Some colleagues and I are thinking on create a MOD and we want to know the best ways to do it as a group. But we are not working in the same physical place, each one of us are scattered though our city, there is any way that we can work together in a multiplayer mode?
What editors we need?
How to create a server that support our project?
If you want to code your own mods, all of you are going to need to know the basics of Java. There are a lot of great Java tutorials on Youtube, finding one is really easy. You don't have to focus on the really advanced Java topics, the basics should suffice. Next, you're going to want to download Minecraft Forge. It is by far the most widely used and supported Minecraft modding API. You can find it here. Lastly, if all of you are going to work on the mod together, Github will be your best bet as far as sharing code between multiple people. It allows everyone to push (copy) their changes to your mod's code to a central place, and then the rest of you can pull (grab) that person's changes easily.
We are trying to create a Minecraft version of a real historic building. So, we need to work collectively, what tools beside Forge and Github do you advise for beginners?
Also if we create a multiplayer map can it be adapted for single player and vice versa?
I think i couldn't be clear in my question, my bad. English isn't my native language.
I'll try explain better here.
So, we are trying to make a Map where Minecraft players could join either in Singleplayer or Multiplayer. In this map we will recreate a real historic building (i.e. Eifel Tower, Empire State Building, etc...) telling the historical and architectonic aspects of the builds, as a scientific communication model to gamers.
Our doubt are:
1 - We need to work collectively and simultaneously, we talked about Forge and Github. Some us know how to code and use Github, but some don't. Because the deadline, we can't teach everyone how to use it. So, there is other ways to us work collectively besides Forge and Github?
2 - If we create a multiplayer map can it be adapted/accessed for single player and vice versa, creating it on singleplayer mode can be adapted/accessed by a multiplayer mode?

Hey Geforce,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Some of us don't know much about codding.
We are trying to create a Minecraft version of a real historic building. So, we need to work collectively, what tools beside Forge and Github do you advise for beginners?
Also if we create a multiplayer map can it be adapted for single player and vice versa?
Wait, sorry, did I misunderstand you? Are you trying to create a mod or just recreate a building in Minecraft?
