Hihi! I've finally had the time to really delve into buildcraft and industrialcraft lately and it's just a super awesome fun time. However, You know that everyone makes a quarry and I was using sterling engines but they take so much coal and charcoal that I can't maintain it right now. So I decided that making a solar quarry system shouldn't be too hard right? Eheh... Here's my problem. I have my quarry set up already ran with the sterlings but removed those and have a solar panel and batbox set up, getting power, ran a line down to the quarry and it wouldn't connect. Did some research and some thread said I needed an electric engine. I made the electric engine, doesn't connect just places vertical. Then did some more digging and apparently there's a mod called Modern Converter that's supposed to convert EU to RF but the only thing the mod comes with is Energy IO, Modern Wrench, Modern Debugger, and Wire. I also can't find any youtube vids for help. Normally using the sterling wouldn't have been a problem but Railcraft isn't out for 1.12.2, or atleast I can't find it, otherwise I would have used coal coke. I will certainly accept ANY advice or something I'm missing. Thanks!
1. The BuildCraft alphas for 1.12 currently use MJ instead of RF, which is why the Forestry electric engine won't work. It converts EU to RF (technically Forge Energy, but for most practical purposes, that's roughly the same thing as RF; there are some underlying API details that are different iirc, but they're too subtle for most players to notice).
3. If you want coal coke, Immersive Engineering has a coke oven. I haven't checked whether the Buildcraft Stirling Engine will accept that in the 1.12 versions.

2. I seem to remember reading the Modern Converters doesn't work properly for MJ output, but you can try this mod: https://github.com/Chocohead/EU-MJ-Engine
