So, I downloaded Forge for 1.8.9, booted up Minecraft and everything was fine. The option for mods was there, it had the three default mods, awesome. I then placed the mod I wanted into the mods folder, and Forge told me that it was the wrong version. I went and found the necessary version, 1.8, and installed that Forge as well. I logged into Minecraft again on the Forge client with version 1.8 selected, but the mods option won't show up.
The mod I want to use is DragonMounts-r43 for 1.8
I'm running Minecraft on a Macbook Pro using El Capitan.
Update: I did some research, found what I was looking for on how to create directories, and now everything works. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

Any help would be appreciated~
Does your 1.8 Profile have a different game directory folder than the 1.8.9 Profile? This prevents mixing of diff versions.

I don't believe so. How do I make that happen?
