Hello, this is my first post on my own, so please don't make fun of me.
So I want to use optifine on my Macbook air, but the only 1.8 version I can find is the ultra version. And no, don't tell me to not use a mac, and no, don't say use 1.7.10, I am playing a modded 1.8 survival, and I don't want to make a new world. All I am wondering is if I could use optifine on my computer.
Are you running any other mods? If you can run modded MC, then you should be able to use Optifine. And always use the latest version of Optifine for the version of MC your running.

You should have no issues running Optifine, just get the most recent Forge for your version and you're good to go. Also if you're having fps trouble you could try adding BetterFPS, to supports up to 1.8.9 and gives a decent boost to overall performance.
I tried downloading OptiFine on my MacBook Air, but it says the file will harm my computer. So, I didn't download it, I don't want to break my laptop. What should I do?
And, yes, I do realize this is almost a year late, but, I need answers.

Personally, I'd trust Optifine, your call, though.
