If you couldn't mine, it would be called Craft. If you couldn't craft, it would be called Mine. If you couldn't do anything, it would be called a ripoff! >:> My quiz-->http://www.onlinequi...assessment-1638
The fact that it might take a while to update the mods worries me the most.
There are some WIP mods out there that would be GREAT addition to your minecraft. Reconsider the fact that a lot of mods haven't updated for a long time.
Mods staying on 1.6 really has nothing to do with Forge. Forge is stable for 1.7.X, and has been for a while now, mods sticking to 1.6 are just sticking to the olden days and not moving forward, and even then some are slowly being updated to 1.7.X.
When do you think a 1.8 version of Forge will be released?
Mod creators, reviewers, and Alpha and Beta testers even want to know.
When do you think Forge will have time to make a 1.8 version? Will there ever be one?
How do you think they are doing?
Got any questions or answers?
As said above a few times, a pre-alpha is meant to be out shortly, however this will no where near be stable enough for development to continue for actual mods, and definitely no where NEAR stable for use in an actual world. It will be a little while. 1.8 was a rather large update for a lot of mods, best you can do is wait it out.

Forget it. I dont think its going to be released anymore now since CPW left minecraft due to the games acquisition by M$
Why wouldn't it be released solely due to CPW leaving? Sure, CPW developed a good chunk of it, but Lex is dedicated to it, and it is a large source of income for him, and it's his most prized project AFAIK. I don't think it's going to be canned, just pushed back.

For everybody who wants Forge 1.8 now, do you really want a buggy unfinished Action-52'ish Minecraft because it has ugly bunnies and way too frequent Ocean Monuments and other stuff?

well it wouldn't matter if forge came out buggy now modders would still need time after that to make mods. plus it would be so basic everyone's posts would be crash reports. it will be february or longer until its out and another 2-3 months before good mods get finished.

It would, Forge could be released under a build that is so buggy mods cannot actually even start updating. I get what you're saying, it wouldn't matter, it will still be some time before mods update to 1.8, but it does matter because without a stable Forge, I am certain no authors will want to update.

Considering some mods are still on 1.6 XD
Others are 1.4.7. And others are 1.7.10.

Wait and hope....
Orespawn, More Explosives, Paleocraft, Morph Mod, Dimensional Doors, all those very cool mods that we had to go back to 1.6.4 just for the mods.
I don't think you understand the term "dying"
A mod dies when development of said mod is no longer being developed.
Most mods you just mentioned are still being updated.
Read the above posts. It will be a little while until a release is stable enough to start playing with in a proper world.

Farewell everyone o/
Not quite February, but Lex himself said January: "For now 1.7.10 should be your target until at least January.". Source: http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/topic,23497.msg119189.html#msg119189
