Hello, I was trying to get the Too Many Items Mod for Minecraft Multiplayer. I used minecraftdl.com. I downloaded the file (not the installer) for Minecraft version 1.7.2. It was compatible for Minecraft Forge. I clicked the "Start Download" button, but at about 4-10%, the browser came up with and error stating that a temporary internet file could not be found. It told me to verify the file's location to continue. However, there wasn't a button to "verify" the location.I could "Try again", "Skip", or "Cancel". None of these buttons would make it work. I have run into this error many times before with other mods. I use Internet Explorer 10 (I think), and have a windows 8 operating system. If anyone has encountered this problem and has found a solution, please reply.

There aren't many trusted sites that host Minecraft mods. You should really get all mods from either here or PlanetMinecraft, or any sites that are said to be trusted and look legit. Not saying you're trying a fake or bad site, I don't know if it is or not, but just as a heads up. Some sites host fake mods, which look like mods but are in actual fact viruses, just generally broken mods (won't load and/or crashes game on purpose), or just simply fake mods (mods which in actual fact aren't actual mods).

DO NOT EVER USE MINECRAFTDL. It's a site known to have hosted viruses and malware, and every now and then that is still being reported. By using that site you are exposing your computer to great risk. Use the official thread here on Minecraft forums, CurseForge, PlanetMinecraft or mods.io instead.
I AM NOT YOUR PERSONAL MINECRAFT MOD SUPPORT AGENT, SO PLEASE DO NOT PM ME ABOUT PROBLEMATIC MODS THAT ARE NOT MINE. If you're having trouble/crashes with a mod, you'll have better luck resolving it in this forum section than PMing me. If you already made a topic, be patient about responses. If you have troubles with anything non-Minecraft related on your PC, I might be able to help, though, but no promises. Even though I could wish to be, I'm not a wizard.
What bilde2910 says is true. There are several sites out there looking to do nothing more than get traffic by whatever means. Often doing so by spreading misinformation by saying that a mod has been updated when it hasn't, hosting fake mods, illegally hosting mods from authors who never wished to host on those sites, and even going as far as putting other mod author's downloads behind ad links, earning money directly from the work of others.
Have a read of bilde's thread, linked in the post just above mine. You might also consider having a peak at the MCF Modlist linked within my signature. Most, if not all links there are safe, and point to trusted locations.

mods.io (still in beta, can't do much browsing yet)
Thank You so much! I never knew that site was bad. It looked so established and professional. I will definitely read the thread. Your help has been appreciated!
