Try to read this. Focus on the tutorial and download a program i use eclipse juno. I mod with forge and looked at coding and did not know what to do before but now I do and am advanceing more. Took a long time to try figure what code goes to what.

modloader- you just delete metainf and drag and past in your minecraft.jar
forge- install forge universal and ether drag in your mod in the mods folder or do it manually just
forge manually- drag and past in minecraft.jar
