How are you going to predict anything the player types in the book? I'm curious.
It checks as the player is typing into the book so that it doesn't lag upon closing the book, and if it finds something that works when the player clicks done, it adds it to their inventory or spawns it. Now, I can use a modified /summon and /give command running within the book's code. And Joe, I need some textures for different colored swords and picks and tools and things, probably just the standard Roy G. Biv rainbow
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
pretty epic mod
try adding in kthulu
or maybe something like
rainbow epic hungry thirsty cold spooky kthulu
when this mod is out once i try it out most of the things
in my mind will destroy minecraft like
epic giant hungry rainbow spooky cold thirsty acrobatic kthulu

I don't know what your plan is, but for most things a smarter way to do colors would be with an overlay, like the enchantments.
For example; Typing "Red Book" would spawn a book, and give it an "enchantment" where instead of becoming shiny, it becomes red. This would make it so we didn't have to make quite so many textures.

Mmm yes. That really makes sense but it would give texture makers less control. I will look into simply using gray textures and coloring them.
I have an idea for this mod just in case you are taking them. I have some experience in coding, but I think it would be possible to add the living adj. to items by making an entity that spawns when you add living to an inactive item. It takes on the sprite of the item id you type in the notebook. I hope this makes sense!
I made the living items. They have the same code as slimes and when killed they drop their own item. It's perfectly seamless though, it just looks like you pick up the item.

Wow, this is a very interesting concept. I would love to see a review of everything that has been done so far. Can you send me a stable/unstable build of this mod?
I'm not really willing to give out a build yet because so far the only thing I can do is run unstable instances in a test environment. It crashes really easily when you do anything, and I've had to run it in a special non .minecraft instance because it corrupted a world. I'd love to let you or somebody try it but it's so unstable because I'm a bad coder...
Glad to see this progress. Can't wait to see what else you're working on.
Would it be possible to be able to specify a number? Such as "64 Green Screen" or "Green Screen 64" so you would get said number of the item? If it was more than a stack it would just split it into multiple stacks.

wow my mind is like a retarded rainbow
I'll do the rest like this if you like these.
I also did a notebook if you want it.
OMG Yes! That's so perfect! Thanks!
Well... thank you for some ideas!

I knew most of everything about Minecraft, until 1.8 and 1.9....now I'm just totally confused....
Although I have a PS3 and Wii U, I don't have any console edition.
I see your point.
Perhaps. The adjective library doesn't create new mobs, it simply injects data into an existing entity or item.
