I updated to Minecraft 1.4.2 and downloaded the most recent version of magic launcher. However when i put the lastest version of minecraft forge it says it has 1 error and when i try to run minecraft using magic launcher i get a black screen. When I had 1.3.2 i used modloader without any problems and forge kept getting errors when i tried to use that instead of modloader. Anyone know of a fix or should I just wait for the bugs to be worked out. This is what i have now on my mods list: 1 Minecraft forge. 2. Too many items. 3. Craft Guide. 4. Railcraft. I would like to add ICBM, Herblore, Alcohol craft, some kind of farming mod, better pistons, shelfs, and maybe dynamic lighting.
im having the same problem, but it says "not compatible" with mine, all my mods and launcher is up-to-date
and the mods im trying to uuse are; optifine, computercraft, and of course minecraft forge
What I found out, and I forget where, that Magic launcher only reads into the first layers of files. So if you have any folders you won't get the mod to work...try moving things around in the folder until you get it to work. I hope this helps...the team should really make a list of mods that work for there loader or at least a format so we know how to rearrange the files to make them work.
moving the folders was ineffective... when i use the magic launcher, all the mod folders go into "magic" folder in .minecraft so i think moving the files is not needed, i think the problem revolves around an error in the 1.4 update..... but im really not sure

Make sure you update the location of the new minecraft.jar in magic launcher the problem you are having is most likely because magic launcher is still reading a minecraft.jar file from MC version 1.3.2 and you are trying to run mods meant for MC version 1.4.2, so up at the top where it says minecraft.jar in white text directly to the right is a button that says select then just find your main minecraft.jar file select it and that should fix your problem.
However if that does not fix your problem try this:
In magic launcher try rearranging your mods and put your modloader(s) at the very top of your list then the "1 error" text should go away if they are in the correct order.
If both of those solutions did not fix your problem then try searching your problem on Youtube or Google.
I think it will be easier if you use MultiMC, all you do is create an instance, add mods(there even is a build in Forge downloader), add mods with a drag and drop.

I move my minecraft forge file all over the place and yet it always says either 4 errors or 1 error. I am in 1.4.5 if that is the reason that forge isn't working. Also it only says 1 error if i move forge to the top but this actually makes ModLoader say not compatible.

no other mods even added and still get a black screen.
