I'm making a mod, and I want to allow crafting of a skeleton spawner. If I just allow the crafting of a spawner, it would come out as a pig, but I need to add metadata to it, much like the way the colored wools & dyes work.
What is the metadata for a skeleton spawner? Hell, could you direct me to a whole list? I can't find it anywhere!
:/ not quite. The mobspawner (All of them) is one item. Each on is distinguished by "Metadata" Or "Damage Value" So the amount changes it. This is also used with dyes, wool, and with coal & Charcoal. It is just so there arent 20 different items that are 99% the same. I just need to specify that it is a skeleton spawner, but I don't know how much metadata to put on it.
Risugami made a mod called Spawner GUI that lets you change the mob that each spawner spawns, maybe you could ask him for the metadata for the Skeleton spawner?
That's the only thing I can think of right now, I've actually been looking as well but I've not found anything useful. :sad.gif:
There is no metadata for mob spawners. The data that hold the mob ID is stored in a TileEntity, which is only created after the player places the block or it is set by code such as in dungeon generation. When a player places a mob spawner, the default tile entity's mob ID is "pig", so that is what it's set to.

Yes... there are metadatas for spawners... as shown above... but in some mods... they don't work (like in mods with "new" dimensions) Example: Galacticraft mod
