I want to change the map height of one of my already *existing* worlds. (I don't want to have to make a new map to get the new height limit, I want it to be changed in my current world.)
I'm tired of waiting for a mod to do this, since Cubic Chunks is really the only mod that lets you change an existing map's height. The others only work in new maps.
It takes cubic chunks forever to update too, so I'm wondering if I can somehow change a couple things in the files and the map height will be changed. If you know how to do this, if it is possible, please help me :3
'Without mods' is kinda a moot point considering you basically want to make a mod yourself for this. xD
Anyways, I think it can be done (how else would the mod makers do it?) but I haven't the foggiest how. Have you tried contacting the creator of Cubik Chunks? They might be able to give you some pointers or even agree to do it for you =o

If you make the world limit to for example 256 blocks you would have to end up modding Minecraft as the world would make Minecraft to crash as Minecraft is coded to work with maps that are only 128 in height limit, so you have to use mods no matter what when it comes to modified world heights
