Hey everyone. I'm going to make a flaming sword mod, for PRACTICE PURPOSES ONLY!! I would like to know how to set entities on fire (mobs). If anybody could tell me how that coding would work, it would be greatly appreciated. Not asking FOR the code, only how the procedure should be done. Thanks again. :wink.gif:
It should be some function, I think it's something like OnEntityHit or something, not sure. then there should be something else that you put in that that would ignite the entity, not completely sure about that part though, never really tried something like this
Yeah, I was going to take a look at the sword damaging for OnEntityHit. Just all I would need to find out is the EntityIgnite or something like that. Like how arrows catch on fire through lava. I'll take a peek at the EntityArrow

no no, there's literally a method easier than that. I've already created exactly what your modding. I could post it, or give you clues to what to do so you learn? Personally, I'd go for the second option.
