Also, another future addition, I plan on making a database of tons of current mods out there. OCMI will by default use this list, and the list will stay up to date so that your mods.txt will be updated as soon as the mods are updated/upgraded. You can also add on to this list, or choose not to use it at all. That'll probably be in the next update. :smile.gif:
I think this is a great idea but there should be a approval system to stop doubles and improper downloads

You're that special one that I have been waiting for and I hope you're looking for someone like me.
MinecraftMapMaker: First of all, I believe you deserve a cookie. *gives cookie* But second, I do know that what I said is 100% certainly true, simply because of the way it is coded. The language doesn't matter, but the mechanism and coding does. And it's pretty solid, unless the 2 reasons that I gave happen. :tongue.gif: Thanks for your support though!
Demoz: Sure did! :smile.gif: Thanks!
popa_qwerty: Oh, that won't be needed. I'm not saying that it will be a database built by users/modders, it's a database that I will personally maintain via an automated bot that I will program up to run everything for me. Automation is my niche of programming. It's kind of what I do for a living. :smile.gif:
Omega: Thanks again. :smile.gif: I'll give you a cookie just for laughs. *gives cookie*
Elementis: Really? I've actually done the same thing with the same 2 mods (you are using the forked version of MineColony, correct?) and it worked perfectly. Are you sure you've got everything up-to-date?
link236: Give me just a minute, I'll get some mirrors up. EDIT: They're up now. Just use "Mirror 1" instead. :smile.gif:
yup its forked version, and everything is up to date. :sad.gif:
i dunno why it wont work T_T

link236: haha I understand man, no homo :tongue.gif:
Elementis: That's really odd mate.. try redownloading the default minecraft.jar and then installing ModLoader then MineColony again. It should work, I mean it just worked for me a second time.
::UPDATE::
Just a small one this time, I added a backup utility to the program so that you don't have to be worried anymore. :wink.gif: Check out the first post for more details, and download Version 2.1.0!
EDIT: If you have already downloaded 2.1.0, please redownload with the new link - I forgot to update the version variable within the program, so it will tell you there's an update no matter what. I fixed that just now, so the new one will be all good. Sorry for all the updates everyone, I'm just being given so many good ideas!

popa_qwerty: Thanks for your suggestions! 1) So, basically have a feature that allows the user to just have the mod's zip file downloaded to the folder that OCMI is in, then the program will extract it in the same folder so the user can check out what's in it? If that's the case, I can have the done and uploaded in like 3 minutes. lol 2) I see where the idea is coming from, however I don't think it would be terribly effective. Maybe if the installation process took a few minutes or even half a minute per mod, but each mod is literally a click and then a couple seconds later it's all done. I don't think a queue would be an effective means of installing. But, if you can prove me wrong, I'll gladly add it in. :smile.gif:
Elementis: Hmm.. let's get someone else to give it a try. There's seriously no reason that should be happening.
Omega, could you backup your current jar, redownload the default jar, then try and install Modloader then the forked MineColony and see if it works for you real quick?
I like how your handling the bit.ly URLs for the time being. It's better than nothing! And having the program simply read through the mediafire link would have been my solution for not being able to DL from mediafire links, but I was late to the party.
Seeing how quickly you code things to adapt to suggestions or problems just amazes me. I still wonder about having to manually update the mods.txt (via notepad or the actual program) when mods get updated, though. Besides a repo system, or your database idea (which you seem to already be working on? Maybe I misread, it's late haha), is there any way to have the program sense if the mod is updated?
Using the parse method to have it read through designated threads for versions higher than the current for each mod seems too clunky.
Hmmm, perhaps MC Modding is not yet meant to reach this level of luxury? If automated updates were available, would there be ANY manual labor in modding the game? Hahaha.
aw man :sad.gif: this sucks hardcore. i wont have lots of time to mangle with this, ive got a job to hold!

Uhh, sure thing. Just give me about five minutes, ten tops.
Oh, I think your MediaFire link is broken, it kept looping me back to the 'click here to download page'
wait, so the media fire link was the ONLY problem i kept having here?
if so, could we try a new Minecolony link?

Veageta8: Well, the MediaFire thing is complicated.. they've really gone out of their way to stop any kind of automated downloads. But I'll figure it out though, hopefully tomorrow. And about the mod updates thing.. that's also a bit complicated. hahaha I'm brainstorming like crazy trying to think of ways to keep this level of luxury for people that want to use mods. I mean, it was made really easy to use texture packs, why not mods too? :tongue.gif:
Omega: Are you sure? Which link are you referring to? I just tested out all of the MediaFire version links, and they work fine.
Elementis: Have you tried it from a completely fresh minecraft.jar file, after deleting the version file in your minecraft bin directory and logging in through the launcher?

Add a download only so people could see what there are adding to the Mindcraft jar and read the Readme.txt
Add a install queue so they can install all mods at once and if the mods are downloaded you could see if the mods conflict
Ooooooooooh, COOKIE!!!!!!! *Om nom nom*
*finishes cookie* Yeah, I can see and would to se those things being added too, qwerty.
what gives?

I have Forked MineColony working fine for me. Fresh JAR and everything.
Any other mods you might have?
-edit:- never mind, I forgot that Modloader prevents conflicts. I got MineColony from github, is that where you got it from?
