can you help?
I'm not sure exactly, but it looks like it's missing a texture for a mod. Did you install everything correctly, according to the readme? (That includes the resources folder)

One thing I would update in the READ ME.txt file, is explain what each mod does, cause I'm sure not everyone will know what to do with the new items, like me :ohmy.gif:
HAH. Yeah, thats on my task list, I'm slowly working on it. I had a guide half completed for the beta 1.2 update, then Notch decided to turn the mod world upside down. So.... Back to square one!
It would be very helpful if downloaders like yourself could test out the items and see how they interact with each other, as I'm sure I didn't get everything (55 mods in 4.4).
hmm... i downloaded this and followed step by step but i keep getting the black screen, do i have to put mod loader, audio mod, arrows, etc. in first or no? and thanks ahead of time :smile.gif:

1. Using MCU 4.4 for Beta 1.3_01 only?
2. Patching in ALL files in the folders as the readme says? (modloader, spawnlist, audiomod are all foundation mods)
3. Using ONLY Mod versions inside MCU? (vanilla versions will NOT WORK)
4. What OS are you using? If Mac, then you need to go see the mac modding tutorial (link in OP)
5. Arrows is a Main Mod. If you are picking and choosing then there aint no way its gonna work.
6. Deleted Meta-Inf?
7. Using any mods BESIDES MCU? (Note, that the reason all the mods in the forums aint in MCU is because they arent compatible with MCU mods, or in rare cases I havent heard of them or the MCU mods already have their features).
8. Windows 7 is kinda screwy, I dont personally have 1 so I wouldnt know...
I felt no need to put that in the main post, as ModLoader v4 is in the "Foundation Mods" folder. But yeah, MLv4
Thanks, I was asking this because every time I install the mod I first get the Mojang Logo and then the screen turns black. I'm using a mac and I fallowed the steps from the forum post you linked to in the OP but this still happens. Has anyone else been able to run this mod on a mac
Can't get it to work either. Getting the same problem as blackhunt40.
I've tried it several times with different install methods and nothing.

What does this mean? not to use a clean minecraft version?
It means not to use vanilla versions of mods (from modder's forum topics).
You are both using Windows 7, and I have not been able to find a topic for installing mods on windows 7 (like the 1 for mac), and I dont personally have access to a Windows 7 computer to test it on...
Try deleting only the mojang files in Meta-Inf instead of the entire folder?
The only reason it would blackscreen is something going on with the meta-inf folder, or an incorrect minecraft version being used.

EFTH a page back got it to successfully install. Try running minecraft between each step.
Ok, this mod is looking pretty sweet.
However, as I've never really installed a mod on Minecraft before, I'm still a bit lost as to the process by which to proceed.
I downloaded the zip and extracted it to my desktop with winrar to see what all it's about. And I can get to my .minecraft folder no probs. But is all I gotta do is drag and drop the folders right now? Cause that sounds too easy a solution.
Or is there something more to do, being as I don't quite understand what you mean by getting z-zip.
I googled the name and all that I can find is 7-zip. Which as far as I can tell, is about the same dadgum thing as winrar. Which I already have.
Or is it a tool here on minecraft for installing mods?
(Another thing I'd like to find as well. The most dependable MC mod-installer that is.)
If anyone could assist me in such endeavors, I would be most grateful.
EDIT: So I followed all the directions, dragged and dropped everything, and minecraft starts up, up until I login.
Then the window turns black and just stays that way. :/
EDIT 2: I see I'm having the same problem that dmrv1 is having.
And I'm using Windows XP operating system.

Ohhhh....K..... Just tried patching it in on a clean install.... and Im getting blackscreened. I'm guessing I accidentally put a mod thats compatible with 1.2_02 in MCU 4.4, cuz thats the only thing that could cause this. Back to bug testing >.<

1. Yeah, its pretty sweet (when it works lol)
2. It may seem simple, but yes, all you have to do is drag and drop. I put all the mods together in one place for that specific reason, so it would be easy to install.
3. Yeah... 7-zip, sorry, not Z-zip... never looked close enough to see the Z was actually a 7.
4. Not a tool, though I am writing one for MCU to automatically patch it in.

Ahh, very well. Carry on then. Was looking forward to not having to spend so many diamonds on remaking tools, lol.
I'll keep an eye out for the fix then. Hopefully it's not too troublesome an issue.

Most of mods are not seen by me (Half of Mo Creatures)
Yeah, I was going to wait to release 4.4 till Mo'Creatures was updated, but I released 4.4 before it was updated, and it has been, so after I weed out this blackscreen bug (half the mods done), I plan to put the updated Mo'Creatures in.
Mo' Creatures will not be joining MCU 4.4.1, because it needs the latest GuiApi, and that puts the other mods that use GuiApi out of business till I update them, which means updating every single mod... And I'm a tad exaushted atm, so.... merp.
However, I finished testing and weeded out the problem. A mod overwrote another mod's critical file, I've fixed that. No more blackscreens! A couple new mods are in 4.4.1, spears, morecraft (it is compatible), and mip-mapping.

I'm still getting blackscreened, I'm curious what is causing it or what I may be doing wrong. Because I add to the bin>minecraft.jar folder all the stuff you say to add to the .jar.
But there are also 3 other .jar's in there. lwjgl, jinput, and lwjgl_util.
Was I supposed to add the .jar files to one of those instead?

I've installed it from a fresh install, and it worked perfectly for me... At this point I have absolutely no idea why its happening, but I'll try to find out. In the meantime, could someone point me to a mod installer that like notifies you of whether mods conflict with each other? The system Im currently using sucks.

If so, then this perplexes me.I hope it's not a conflict with Windows XP, cause that'd really suck.
Unless you're talking to Adanonymous and blackhunt40. Cause that's not currently my problem, lol.
