BTW i was thinking about getting symphony of the night but...im not too sure. Do you think its a good game?
Are you kidding? It's the best in the series, by far. Probably the best platforming rpg adventure game ever made, satisfyingly deep and very replayable.
But if you like the old linear castlevania, either pick Rondo of Blood or Super Castlevania IV.
also i just noticed a mistake in the rainbow cemetery, it's about richter's grave... Dracula X series (Rondo and SotN) are around 1792 so richter can't be around 1592
Nathan Graves also wrong CotM is around 1830
Trevor grave is wrong too CV3 is around 1492
Soleyu name is not Soleil.
Haha I was wondering if anyone would call me on the grave dates, I just pulled those out of my ass, then noticed later on the Castlevania wiki there actually are proper dates! Soleil is the proper romanization of Soleyu though, it just didn't get localized expertly. Thanks for the corrections though, I'll probably fix that in a future version.

As long as one has a PS3, then it's possible... Last i heard, SotN, unlike the others, is NOT on nintendo. I got a PS3 with a PSN live account, but the game might gonna take a load of time to download.
So far, map's going good.

New update is great. Nice new Nether stuff. It would be nice if you would add onto the over world more though. Like new towns for after you beat the Palace. But really, this map is awesome!
(And to make it up for SotN not being on nintendo VC i believe they got rondo and a bunch of other titles [Includes Adventure ReBirth, i'm looking forward to it] along that there :smile.gif: but i'd think about picking a wii and a 360 for the virtual console and Harmony of Despair for the 360, i still got SotN somewhere here, i'm pretty sure)
I have played this map for a few days (on and off) and I think you have done a stellar job. You added an environment to a Minecraft map like no other.
One thing that I think you did an especially great job on was the Nether. I loved how absolutely tense the Nether portion was. When I exited the Dark Palace through the portal (with all my treasure), I literally held my breath as I shimmied across the ledges of the structure, freezing in place every time I heard a shriek or the rattling of bones, hoping that an arrow or fireball won't greet me to a long fall into the lava as I turn around the corner.
You seemed to have been aiming for a tense and terrifying environment, and well, you certainly established one. I was completely sucked into the atmosphere you created.
This is the best adventure map I have ever played!
Heh, glad to hear the mood was properly set. :smile.gif: When you step into the portal, stuff gets real once you realize one drop will cost you all your loot and you'll respawn back at the start. You'd be wise to periodically stash your treasure as you progress in the Nether so you don't lose your prize... technically you could also deposit your loot at the start chest then go through the Nether but I think that is less daring, perhaps I should amend the rules or scoring to reward the risk... maybe somehow items gain enchantment passing through a portal. Veterans of old-school dungeon crawls who understand permadeath strategies will be at an advantage here since the Nether section is pretty unforgiving.
In other news... looks like Criswelvania is nominated in a poll on the Yogscraft forums for the next adventure map! Please head over here, register if you're not already, and vote for your favorite horror-themed map for the next Yogscraft playthough! Woooo!

Got some new ideas cooking, thinking up an advanced-level expansion for victors to use their spoils on, also some multiplayer challenges, then hopefully an AdventureCraft version and/or a custom mod/texture pack will be the goal after that, gonna hide and see what the next update bring us as far as mod support because I really don't want to waste effort on inevitable obsolescence.
Some volunteers have offered help in constructing further modules, both for vanilla and AdventureCraft versions, so I'll do my best to organize and direct those efforts to create many more fun and exciting locations and activities to see and do. The plan is to set up a server and get some fresh ideas going soon, if you want to participate, PM me about getting on the whitelist, preferably with some kind of reference or portfolio to demonstrate your intentions and abilities. When that is going green I'll create a separate thread for that, and IRC participation will probably be the standard platform for organization.
Thanks for all the positive feedback and suggestions so far, it's been very encouraging and I hope to return in kind with more surprises for the next update!
Very nice adventure map, me and my friend put it on my server, we played all the way thru, we would've gotten into the nether if my server didnt stop working, but very nice! i like the fact that theres no 1 path, you could take multiple, and side paths if you wanted.
Just chiming in, I haven't played the map yet but from the response I'm sure it will be amazing. Assuming you plan to continue updating, I wanted to point you (and anyone interested) in the direction of a really great source for Castlevania in general: MrP's Castlevania Realm
Anyway, I'll say more after I've played it, thanks :biggrin.gif:

well i got to a town the first night and a total of 4 creepers blew it up so im just hiding in a house with a giant hole that i had to patch up with dirt :L
Awesome, now with 2x2 (Got patched to 1.3_01) we can throw boomerangs and DAGGERS!!! (And for haunted castle fans [Very few ones] you can get throwable dynamite!)
Thus making it even more similar to castlevania :smile.gif:

katarn10: very useful, thank you! I will consider how best to use this with an approved mod pack in the near future!

Here's a challenge: can you beat Criswelvania faster than you can beat Portal?
