I don't know if this is even possible, but I'd really like to see cylindrical blocks for making columns. Yes, I know it goes against the "feel" of Minecraft but I don't care. Sometimes when you're trying to build something, the default look is just plain inadequate.
Here's the idea for recipes:
[] []
= 5 complete column blocks.
[] []
[] [] []
= 4 half column blocks
[] []
[] [] []
[] = 3 quarter column blocks
[] []
If custom blocks can't have logic similar to cart tracks, where the orientation is dependent on neighboring blocks, then the last two recipes can be flipped and/or mirrored to produce partial columns in each orientation. I realize that's a lot of new blocks to deal with, and texturing these would present new challenges I suppose, but with all the custom mob mods out there I would think this would be fairly easy. At least I'm hoping so. The quarter columns aren't entirely necessary, so if you'd have to make four of them instead of one smart one, then they could be left out.
The shapes could be built from the fencepost shape, just more of them per block. I'd be fine with that even. Or just a larger fencepost that only fills 2/3 of the block and uses the stone textures. Whatever can be done. :smile.gif:

Any takers?

Correct, but what if you build it up in multiple cubes? Look at stairs.
Round isn't possible, but blocky round is, for what I know.
