When animals are "caught", they are actually teleported to an area of hell, where they are beaten to death, cooked, and fed to reincarnated forms of themselves over and over until being "released", back into the real world.
The red light you see when catching or releasing an animal is a bit of blood making its way through the portal that's opened.
A couple of suggestions that would win my vote for this mod:
Necessitate weakening the target mob before capture, like in the pokemon games. Makes tougher enemies more difficult to capture and prevents the pokeballs from being used as a sole means of defense.
Then I guess it would be a good measure to have the creature's health regenerate at some rate while in the ball so they cant be deployed instantly after being captured.
That would make stuff damn hard, as then you'll need to damage your own pokemon to get them back :|

Pokemon have capture rates. Maybe it could use alt ids (add a t to the end of the mob name?). Then make it so the game treats, say, Creepert as a creeper, but with a 100% capture rate

i only have one question, is there a free archiver. winrar kept telling me to buy it. and is this mod up to date?

uhh just exit out of the buy now bit... itll still work... it does for me at least and i havent bought it and been using it for 3years or so... and this mod is NOT up-to-date. it broke during the big beta 1.2_01 patch and hasnt been fixed yet... hes working on it though(i believe)
i dont know if anyone has suggested this or not but you should make it compatible with mo' creatures
i actually REALLY love this idea! He should definitely add this when he updates it! I would love that!
