I'm making a Halloween-themed city Beta map... but I don't want to use the default colors of the minecraft world... like the sky and fog colors. I want my sky to be orange and my fog to be yellow.
Is it possible to change these colors, you know, the way you seem to be able to do in the classic levels?
I know how to change the biome colors for you but that's pretty much it, sorry.

Thats ok. Thanks for your help. :wink.gif:
Biome colors are more of a texture mod/skinning thing. I want people to be able to see this map's color difference no matter what textures they are using. If you've been in the nether, you'd see that that the environment has a red fog, and the sky color is black. I know there is a way to change the coloring of the actual map in theory... what I'm trying to find out is if it can be done with a third party program or by editing the code of a Minecraft map manually.
I figured that was the case... so I would have to change some values in the script of the .lvl file for beta...
which doesn't sound tricky, but I'm sure its harder than it sounds.
Would you know someone who could possibly point me in the right direction to learning how this
could be done? Can it be done in Java?

Any ideas guys?
-Any advice would be extremely helpful.
It is possible to change the color of the sky and fog. This mod changes them to black all the time. The mod author hinted that a gui could be made to change the colors. There is no gui for that as of now. You can check it out here: Dark Sky
The cloud color can be changed simply by editing the clouds.png file.

Fantastic & thanks a lot. I'll certainly check it out. That might turn out to be exceptionally helpful.
In the meantime... if there are any other ideas, (and this is for everyone viewing my post,) please put them down.
I think its obvious that with inventions comes a lot of troubleshooting. Very rarely does one option work on the first try. I like several options.

Thanks again, Telgar.
