Btw. is this compatible with MC portable and MCFS?
I don't know if this works with MC portable.
This is not compatible with MCFS. MCFS is a much more complex solution to the problem of chunk fragmentation, and I disagree with some of the trade-offs it makes. The extreme of having only one file is unnecessary. MCFS is also not backwards-compatible.
Regions are close to the simplest solution possible. RegionFile.java is only 270 lines of code. The global cache is another 60 lines, and the integration with original Minecraft code is trivial.
Well that sucks... So the number of files is still pretty much the same, for my world it's 4000+, and it's a pain in the ass to copy/backup/do whatever you can imagine with them as it will go very slow...
Hey Scaevolus.. I downloaded the mod but yet the lag/framerate persists.
I don't know what the hell to do anymore.
The only way i can stabilize the framerate is if i go into the options menu and quickly switch from (FAST) to (FANCY) back to (FAST).
Then the framerate starts getting smoother, but that only lasts for about a minute then starts dropping again..
Then i have to repeat the method above to get it back to normal...
