I'm getting a black screen with Beta 1.0.2.
I already tried deleting minecraft.jar and the version file and re-downloading update, it still didn't work.

A) Did you delete MetaINF
:cool.gif: Tell me what the error is, "HURR BLAK SCREAN" doesn't help much
It's just a black screen right after you click login, when the Mojang Specifications screen would normally show up.
EDIT: Nevermind, I fixed it. Forgot to delete the META-INF. XD
Looks great!
I'm very confused, after following the above instructions this is the result I'm getting:
I'm using Brown and Bloom texture pack, I've used the HD fix for 32x32.
- I've extracted and then renamed bm.16.class to bm.class.
- I've then deleted bm.class from minecraft.jar and placed the re-named version into minecraft.jar.
- I've then extracted terrain.png from minecraft.jar and edited it like this:
- I've then deleted terrain.png from minecraft.jar and replaced it with the edited version.
I downloaded this and attempted to use it with BetterLight. I used the bm.class from the BL directory, modified my terrain.png accordingly, and everything worked fine.
...Except BL now requires BG, and BG and this mod don't seem to play nice.

Where have I gone wrong? D:
Going by the screenshots, I'd say that you're using a texture pack. This would mean that you need to edit the terrain.png in the texture pack's folder (The terrain.png in the PainterlyPack.zip, for example).
When you edit the .png that's in the .jar, you're editing the default textures, and not the textures your texture pack replaces.
