Hi guys! I currently have nine mods, all work with version 1.2.6, and require ModLoader (except for SmartStairs and SteepStairs). There's a search box up in the corner if you don't have it yet. ;-)
-----------
I put a lot of time into these mods, and I deobfuscate without the help of MCP so that I can get them out faster when updates come. Please, donate some! :-)
Thank you. Now, my mods!
----------
SteepStairs
Stairs are great for climbing, but sometimes you want more of an incline. You want to be able to set a staircase right up the side of the "OMGZORZ dats a big mowntan!". SteepStairs allows you to place one stair block on top of another, and they will "merge" into one staircase. Currently, the graphics don't show what's actually happening, but you can still climb it. I'll draw you a picture to show what's happening:
two stairs right on top of each other:
[] []
[] []
[] []
[] []
act like one, two-block high staircase:
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] []
[] []
[]
[]
meaning you can climb twice the height in a single block. You can stack stairs on top of one another indefinitely, leading to ridiculously steep staircases, 20 blocks high.
For an example image, here:
It may look strange, but you can walk right up it.
CartUnroller
This nifty little tool can save you considerable amounts of time when your laying down some minecart track. Craft it from one piece of track, and you're good to go... place it, and it will face you - much like, say, a furnace. It will look like obsidian when you craft it, the burning side shows which way it will roll. Right click it and drag some minecart track into the "product" slot of the interface that pops up. Then, left clicking will unroll the track. It can go up or down on hills, just like regular track. Then, you can destroy the block - it's single-use, though, so you can't use it again.
This is great if you take a completely (or very, very) flat map, fill on of the these up with 255 track... then put another beside it and do the same... you get a ridiculously long booster. :-D
SmartStairs
This "fixes" the graphics for stairs, so that putting them at a corner will leave it smoother - not "jutting out" in one direction at the corner. Maybe in the future it will become even smarter. ;-)
Here's an illustration, for those confused:
Download at http://www.mediafire.com/?gcwmp6lwjdlcker. Happy... stairing? And I don't mean the awkward kind. (EDIT: Derp. Slight bug-fix for the 1.2.6 version. Please redownload - otherwise any loose sand/gravel crashes the game. Sorry)
Scaffolding
Sometimes, building gigantic dirt towers is just flat out annoying. So... scaffolding has arrived! As was suggested in this topic, you can now craft a block a follows:
= ladder
[] []
[] = 4 Scaffolds
[] []
Scaffolds keep track of how many blocks they have adjacent to them; if any time this decreases, and isn't supported directly from underneath, it will fall. So, consider a structure (with the colored blocks being scaffolds) such as:
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] [] []
if is removed, you'll end up with
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] [] []

if is removed, you'll end up with

AutoCanopy
The desert and snow biomes are great. There's actually large amounts of sand in the desert, and snow in the tundra and what not. But the rainforest really just feels like a forest to me. :-/
But now... Now you can build gigantic forests, with one single block! Mildly inspired by the creep block, I give you: the AutoCanopy! You can craft new Growth block, which - when placed on the ground - will start growing.
Craft it with:
= Sapling
= Dirt
[] []
[] []
[] [] []
It should appear the same as leaves, but grey and colorless.
Then, place it anywhere it on the ground with a clear vertical column above it. It should start moving upward, with a line of green leaves behind it. Then, walk away. When you see a floating black cloud of leaves on the horizon, you know it's working. :-)
Here it is when first placed:
Here it is when it's starting to grow:
And when it has become a block-out-the-sun, day-turns-to-night menace:
EDIT: Too many people were basically griefing themselves with this, so I took pity and added a kill feature. Press and hold K and G at the same time; as long as they are held, the growth will die and fall from the tree. You might need to hold it for a LONG time, because you really want to make sure it's all gone. You can also see the tree on fire then - this will get rid of it all, and you'll be able to see any grey blocks still floating around.
Redstone-activated TNT Cannon blocks
Like my handheld TNT Cannon in many ways, but better - you can link 20, 30 up to a redstone wire and make them all go at once.
Craft a cannon as follows:
[]
[]
[]
Then, right-click to place the block. Right-click the block to load it with items. TNT is fired in activated form; Snowballs are launched in attack form; any other items are launched as if you hit "q". The furnace-colored side is the side the item will come out of; when you first place it, it will be facing you.
Now, the cannon will go off whenever it goes from OFF to ON. So you could put a stone button on a block (I guess), and press the button to fire off an item. Or, you could make a pulser with redstone and make an automatic TNT machine gun.
I put five or six on one wire at the top of a mountain, filled with TNT, hooked up to a 5-clock, and within about 100 seconds it had dug me to bedrock. :-D
(NOTE: Bug, arrows do not work. Oh, and seems it can't save chunks with these in them. :-P Hope to fix soon)
Download at: http://www.mediafire.com/?sbjjc14c4fey5g2
People have been kind enough to make textures for this, but I feel kinda bad about taking up three slots in the terrain.png for this. :-/
Human-only Pressure Plates
These special pressure plates can only be pushed down by humans - not pigs, creepers, or w/e else is trying to get into your house. Finally, you don't levers for things to be secure.
And, I suppose I should give credit to Notch...as he already had this built into the game, it just wasn't implemented in any block.
It can be crafter with three iron ingots in a row:
Cannon
A simple-to-make, fun-to-use cannon. You know you want one.
Make ammo ( ) with 5 TNT blocks in a cross:
[] []
=
[] []
Then ammo and iron can make the cannon:
Hold it in your inventory, right click to shoot, much like a snowball. The TNT will be lit, and fly a max of about 40 squares. It will fire 21 shots, so you actually are getting one free TNT. (this balances out well with the use of iron, I believe.)
Woodchipper
This creates a new tool to be used for quickly digging at just about anything that's been made (primarily) of wood. Oh, and leaves. As opposed to the axe, which is severely limited in it's abilities, (Planks, Wood, Bookcases and Chests), this adds:
-Leaves
-Wooden Staircases
-Signposts
-Wall Signs
-Workbenches
-Ladders
-Wooden Doors
-Wooden Pressure Plates
Suddenly, this is useful!
It can be crafted with
[]
By placing 9 dirt in a 3x3 crafting grid, you can get one dried, flattened, hardened dirt; this dirt can then be placed in the regular armour configurations for helmets, chestplates, legs, and boots. It's strength is equal to that of leather.
For those of you who were wondering, now:
-I No longer overwrite terrain.png or items.png
-Cannon Blocks can face directions properly.
-Dirt Armour renders correctly.
Sadly, AutoCanopy's wood still doesn't work.
So, current todo list:
-Make Cannon Blocks fire arrows
-Make AutoCanopy create tree trunks.
-Eventually, I would like to make a Balloon block that works like Sand or Gravel... except it rises, rather than falling. I've tried a lot, can't seem to get it to work.
Oh, ALSO YOU GUYS: Scaffolding is great for killing mobs. Dig a small chasm, get some mobs to chase you, quickly build a bridge out of scaffolding...
and when they're in the middle, break it. It all breaks, an they die. :-)
You started a new thread for the update? Huh. (NVM, saw old thread while typing this post) Well. Anyway. Like I asked in the old thread...possible to make a limited version of AutoCanopy where it doesn't grow infinitely? Cause that would simply be the one of the most epic things ever.
Edit: BTW, you put 1.2.3_03. It actually confused me the 2nd time visiting this thread to look at the scaffolds but then I was like "Oh. Mistake.". Just if you care.
Also, handheld cannon links to the cannon block :/
Hope you keep working on these mods, i'd prefer it if notch would update like the halloween update only, like once a month so that we modders and mod-users can have a period of functionality.
EDIT: my post from the previous thread, just in case:
Downloaded the updates, and thanks for clearing up the canopy info.
Looks like i'll have to figure the modding stuff out if i want to change the recipe :tongue.gif:
but if i get it working i'll be able to have my way with other peoples mods too. It's usually only small personal changes i want to make with mods.
Thanks for the textures Roundaround, i'll throw those on the cannon until Timeroot updates 'em.

**** THE PEOPLE WHO INVENTED OBFUSCATION. **** THEM WITH KNIVES.
@Jesonomi: Yes, I think I could do that without much difficulty at all. Or at least, in a 16-radius diamond. I could also do more complex shapes, but that would be a bit more tricky, and probably end up creating more lag to a significant extent. What were you thinking of, specifically?

Well. I haven't actually tried the mod (because of my concerns, though i probably should have) but I was kinda just thinking about letting it grow until a certain limit or possible until something is done. (Redstone or block placing/breaking perhaps?) The 16-radius diamond does seem appeasing though. I could totally use that to legitly make awesome tree houses....AND THEN BURN IT TO THE GROUND. After backing it up. :biggrin.gif:

Yes, yes, I'm fairly sure I could modify it such that providing redstone power to leaf would instantly "freeze" the tree in just leaves. Yes, that could be done.
You downloading the current version, and burning it. The lag is beautiful. :-)
Holy ****. So I decided to give the un restrained AutoCanopy a try. HOLY BEEP ON A BEEPINING SANDWICH WITH A SIDE OF BEEP. It was so beautiful as night w/ fancy on. The one thing that astounded me was the fact that IT DROPS TORCHES. SERIOUSLY. ON PURPOSE? I found 2 torches over a course of like 2 days. I wasn't really looking too. An epic canopy. That can drop torches. Holy ****. So amazing. Although I still want a restricted one. XD
EDIT: It seems that the torches come from the canopy blocks. I accidentally burned the canopy so i ended up just using scaffolds to get up and watching everything burn. And grow. Canopy blocks are like regular blocks. Immune to flames. :biggrin.gif:
EDIT: I actually saw the torch pop out this time. The canopy block just grew away and the torch popped out as if it was in a chest that was broken. Got like 7 torches in a few minutes.
the guy should have also thought of making a all in 1 mod for peope who want to use all his listed mods because someof them have a new item texture thing showing new textures wich by instaling 2 of his mods that need that they conflict

Oh, yeah, lol. I did that while I was trying to get the wood to work, sort of as a placeholder. It seems I forgot to take it out.
If it starts growing trunks of lightstone, let me know. ;-)
@orangetj: I thought I removed all instances of mods which overwrite items.png/terrain.png. Could you point me to one that doesn't? Thank you!
The canon block, seems to have a bug that makes all changes done in a world with the canon block aren't saved?
i blasted a hole down to the bedrock, then i saved and opened it again later on, and all holes after the TNT were gone!
And the canons to..!!

None of the mods you listed overwrite items.png or terrain.png, I checked. How old are these mods you're using? Did you download them from this thread, or the old thread?
Oh, and @Runaround - despite the fact that you aren't actually modifying those .png's exactly, you're still occupying the slot, and no other mod can use it. I feel like it's wasteful for me to be filling up those slots.
