Okay guys I just read Notch's post on his blog, this is going to cause some problems. If Notch sends me a cease and decease notification then I have no choice but to stop. However, after I release the first version I shall be asking for his permission to continue the mod.
I personally don't agree at all, modifications lengthen the life of games and increase popularity (which means more money for Notch). Blizzard has accepted modding for years and they have made an extreme amount of money for that same reason.
I'm pretty sure he was talking about modified CLIENTS. Not the mods themselves. IE those old downloadable clients that enabled flying, back in the old days when there was only creative.
I mean... he has a sub-forum, DEDICATED TO MODDING. It wouldn't be here if he didn't like the mods themselves, he just doesn't want people distributing the .jar itself.
But yeah... probably a good idea to check with him after the first release.
Also, for the Dragon Boat idea, make it so it just doesn't break on contact with the shore, and if it IS broken, it drops the boat, not the materials.
And if its possible, and I hope it is, can you PLEASE make it look like the King of Red Lions from Wind Waker? That would be AWESOME. Unless you can't make a new geometry for it, and only a new texture. In which case, HERE:
Sorry, my grammar isn't the greatest. But what was wrong with that particular text segment? It seems fine to me.

You would think so, but he also mentioned the Bridge mod in his blog so I really don't know. Let's hope for the best!
You should work together with the guy who made the Dragon model to make a Dragon Mob.
It would be pretty awesome. I can't make models myself so if we could work together to implement the Dragon mob it'd add way more depth and gameplay to the mod.
Looks good.
However if you're going to make it like an expansion pack, I would add a LOT more than just a few items.
You should make it feel a lot more like more to the game, like adding more in-depth and general features.
I hope it works out! :biggrin.gif:
I plan to, these are just the items I'm going to add to the first release. Since this is my first time coding with Minecraft AND Java, I'm making the simple things like items first. Later on I may approach different items with properties that are similar to the complexity of the Bridge mod or the Redstone system.
I'm not interested in kind of new tools, new armors, things like that
Go away then, you're not adding anything useful to this thread.
This is a really good mod, and I cannot wait for it to be released. But I have one request... Could you make the dragon scale a jewel and have a 1/100 chance of dropping when diggin in stone or something? Would make mining a lot more awesome. =D

Good news guys! I just finished sorting out the bugs and graphics issues with the entire Obsidian toolset. I'm currently making a video on Youtube to show you all how to make the Obsidian tools and also show their durability. Thanks again for the support!

I might do something similar to this, but it'd be an entire new block with a "Dragon Fossil" inside it. They will be fairly rare, around the same rareness as Diamond, but it is still chance-based whether you actually get a Dragon Scale from it or not. This way you can either mine and search for Dragon Fossils OR you can search for Dungeons and fight your way through them to claim your reward.
But like I said I MIGHT do it. While I do like the idea of having two different ways of getting Dragon Scales, I believe it's much more rewarding if you have to fight through a dungeon to loot the Dragon Scales.
at the expense of new mobs.
You can add a horse.
since it must be tamed, give wheat (or whatever it is)
and then you can put on her seat (as a pig) and roll (and still only manage)
and when she dies (or we'll kill her), she falls out of brown fur
Notch isn't gunna be happy about this mod...
I would like, stop even though it could be cool
I'm with this guy. This mod/"expansion" sounds quite superb, I like all the ideas so far. Yet there has already been talk of dragons and such for the future. Madam Claudia predicts squabbling.
Also I like the idea of new mobs, if you want to test out flying mobs, why not birds? but huge enough to shoot down with arrows to recieve their goods.
Ah yes, you can add the pumpkin armor?
for fun
but the new mobs, you can add Notch
it is peaceful and when it hit, he will walk behind you
second time to strike - will by itself
it will help kill the mobs if you go with
but if it dies then it will fall slightly from treated wood, mud and more.
and please make it have the dragon scales a 1/200 chance of dropping from stone, or make it a 1/3 chance of dropping from obsidian? =3
If you do do that, I'll make some painterly-pack style tools for you. =3

I would love to see this!
@ Kingbdogz: Shouldn't you be busy with Warcraft IV mod?
This is a side project, and takes no where NEAR the amount of time I put into my Warcraft IV mod. In fact, most of this stuff took me about 4 hours to make (including sprites + coding).
By the way, do I know you or are you just a member of TheHelper.net?

Not sure about the stone thing for the first update, but for now I'm doing two things:
- Reworking the .class files since their names got completely changed with the new update.
and
- Finishing off the Slime Bomb.
The Slime Bomb is proving hard to code, but I've almost got it. Update should be here soon. Either way, you'll see a video of what I have so far up tonight.

What I mean is, obsidian TNT? Has the power of normal TNT except turns sand into glass, water into , lava into cobble, etc.?
Erm, do you mean WATER with cobblestone?
I don't see why water would turn to Obsidian.
And I thought that if there was ever to be an obsidian version of TNT, it would be more like nuclear-level detonation. :3
Unless it's the nuclear bombs that don't do any damage to structure and just kills people...
But yeah, really, really, REALLY big boom... and probably a longer pre-detonation time to give you half a chance. XD
---------
ANYWAAAAAAAAY,
I personally think it sounds cool, but I'd change the name unless you have plans for more featury stuff, rather than a few obsidian-based items.
