Will this Mod mess with my already Generated Worlds? I just don't want to start exploring on a already generated world and have huge biomes generate that don't mesh well with my smaller regular biomes that I already started...
When you first use the mod it will generate a biome settings file that is set to all default values that match those found in the unmodified game. Either copy this file (found in the same folder as the options text file) into your existing world save folders or open your existing worlds prior to modifying the biome settings file. Either way will ensure there is a biome settings file in your existing world saves that will keep everything as if there is no mod.
Updated the OP with a new version of the mod that enables the moisture and temperature fields so you can customize the types of biomes that spawn in your world in addition to the size of your biomes.
I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but my Minecraft crashes when I try to load or generate a world with this mod installed. I've tried placing the three .class files in the minecraft.jar file (and deleting the mojang meta-inf files), but I get this error report:
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:676)
at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:124)
etc.
I'm in OS X 10.5.8. It's entirely possible I'm just inept at installing mods; any ideas would be appreciated.

Did you delete everything in the META-INF folder (or just the entire folder itself)? If you leave the manifest file it will cause a crash due to version mismatches.

I've tried deleting just the mojang files therein, all files therein, just Manifest, and the entire folder; nothing avoids the crash so long as the modified .class files are present. I've also tried this on a fresh copy of minecraft.jar, and I've tried unzipping and rezipping an unmodified minecraft.jar to make sure it's not that process that's breaking it (it isn't). I will say, though, that although graphics packs work fine (with and without the use of the HD Fix program), I don't recall ever getting a mod with .class files to run.
Is Snow on things... random? I've been messing with the settings and sometimes when I set for certain parameters I will have areas with snow, even if I don't have Taiga, Tundra, or Ice Desert as part of the selection.

Yeah I haven't figured out the issue with snow. I've noticed that it will appear in rainforests and deserts. It doesn't seem that biome type, moisture, or temperature controls snow. I'll track it down eventually though :smile.gif:
Whew, okay it's not just me than... :smile.gif: I've also seen it in the other zones too. Seasonal Forest and Forest AND Swampland, just in case you wanted to know. I guess it happens in all of them.
BTW... what is supposed to be the difference between Swampland, Shrubland and Savanna, other than color? It seems the land shape and tree shape and density are just about the same...
Edited to Add: I guess this would probably be impossible, but would there be a way to have more than one "range" of numbers, so I could say have a World of Swampland and Seasonal Forest (has lesser tree coverage than Forest), but not have the Forest included? I'm guessing it's not, but it can't hurt to ask.

OK, i'm a little confused-
i download v.1 v.2 and v.3 all of which seem to have the same things in them when iopen them up; fy.class, mu.class and pb.class- No Biome options txt. file thingy.
Okay, here's what you need to do, LB. You will only need the 3rd version as it will let you change ALL the settings, and creates a file in each generated world so that each World's generatings are persistent. Open minecraft.jar with WinRAR and delete the META-INF folder, than drag and drop those 3 files into the minecraft.jar and save it.
Now, create a new World. The biomesettings.txt won't show up until you've created your first new World with the updated minecraft.jar. Feel free to delete this World now. The biomesettings.txt file will be in your MAIN .minecraft folder. In it you can change the settings (biome size, temperature range and precipitation range) for any future worlds you generate.

Or you need to update to 10.6.

Ah, alright. Well I updated the mod in the OP with a version being compiled with 1.5 instead of 1.6. Hopefully that fixes his problem.

I don't suppose it would ever be possible to change the biome settings for only a single world?
Yes!
Set the settings you want for that World than copy the settings file directly into the World folder that you want to have those settings for.
Delete your entire bin folder. Reload the game to get a new one created. Than try again.

!!! This mod just got 100x more interesting. :smile.gif: Thanks!
If not.
Can we get an option to generate a map based on length and width input from the user, while using the manually set biome variables?
Or both?
Please please please please? I will have your damn babies, or make you some. X.X
moistureMin:0.00
moistureMax:1.00
temperatureMin:0.00
temperatureMax:1.00
What's the DEFAULT biome settings?
I know those can't be. -.-
I set mine to
biomeSize:2.00
moistureMin:0.00
moistureMax:1.00
temperatureMin:0.00
temperatureMax:1.00
And it creates HUGE biomes. :smile.gif:
I just wanted to know the default so I can compare my changes.
