I'm assuming that this will have no effect on new chunks created in old worlds, as the size value is only called on world creation?
Working on a change right now that will create a biome settings file for each world that is created so that you can have each world with different biome parameters. Right now it's written to function so that if the file does not exist it creates a new one (a global one and a copy of that for the world you are making/loading) that is loaded with default values (as they are in the game right now). You can then modify the world specific biome settings file if you want to alter biomes in a given world or modify the global biome settings file to start a new world off with those values.
I'm also working in the settings for moisture and temperature as well.

Could you make a slider still?

I'd love too, but the issue with the incompatible class files still exist. I managed to get the classes in the OP to work, finally, but not the gui classes that have the slider in it. I can try working on that tonight to see if I can figure out the issue. If not, then it'll have to remain a text file only option until I can figure it out.
I kind of prefer the text file, honestly. I mean sure, a GUI text BOX with an optional slider that writes to it or something fancypants would be the height of luxury, but I really like the freedom of putting in whatever you want.
Because actually, I tried out size 1.0 biomes, and they aren't as big as all that. I could walk across one in about 10 minutes.

Przerwap, upon looking at some code I had just written: "...Gav... That's not how programming works."

Try 100. I used a speed-up mod that makes me 200X faster than walking, and still haven't gotten to the end of my snow biome!

Bucyruss, I have a property manager that you can use in SP that will save things in a .properties file based on the world, instead of one global value. No UI hookups, but you could use that if you want to save the values in a TXT file...
Heh, I know you guys want your biomes so large you could choke a horse with them, but I'm finding .25 to be just perfect. Large enough to be noticable, but small enough to get across to the other ones. I might bump it up to .50. We'll see after I play around with it a bit.

Just posted an updated version that should get rid of the issue of the game overwriting the options text file. I'm making the game create a new text file just for storing biome settings that it will read/write to in the mean time. You still have to manually edit the values, but this should make it a bit more tolerable for people. But sure to read the update in the OP as there are some oddities with switching biome sizes on existing worlds.
Thanks to you i finally found a World with a good, nearly flat area (100x100) of only ONE biome! :biggrin.gif:
Now i can prepare and create my project :iapprove:.
Speaking of that, one of the other things that I think I found that I may can modify is elevation (variation?) controls for biome types. I haven't actually tested it yet, but judging from the code that's what it looks like it does.
It won't generate a desert with temp max and min at 1.00 and Moisture max and min at 0.00.
What's up with that?
Reading the OP would have answered your question.
You'll notice that the settings are in there for moisture and temperature now as well. However, they don't do anything right this moment as I've run into an issue with foliage that I will need to fix or, at least, test further. But I seem to be getting weird results like rainforest trees in a taiga biome.
Will this Mod mess with my already Generated Worlds? I just don't want to start exploring on a already generated world and have huge biomes generate that don't mesh well with my smaller regular biomes that I already started...

I create an SSP map using a modified biome generation.txt file. It works.
I want to transfer that map to my SMP server. Will the biome variables stay permanent on the map when players are exploring the map?
I would also like this. Will this by chance run by modding the minecraft.jar on the server? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't run.
I don't know, but my guess is no. I've never touched SMP so I don't know how it differs from SSP.
My Terrain Tweaker Mod does this for SMP, as well as some other stuff.
