Please do not advertise one persons mods in another modders thread. its rude and disrespectful. Some people only want a certain set of features thus having options is a good thing. Hijacking another persons thread on the otherhand is NOT a good thing.
So, if I wanted to rename a world for christmas, I'd named it Christmasname.txt or Christmas.txt?

All right i've been thinking.. when life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade, MAKE LIFE TAKE THE LEMONS BACK. GET MAD! I DON'T WANT YOUR DAMN LEMONS! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?
Step 1: Go into World X (x is a number ) folder.
Step 2: Create a new text file
Step 3: Name it Name.txt ( literally, Name.txt )
Step 4: Open it, and write on the first line what you want the name to be ( Can't be over 20 characters )
Step 5: Go into game
Step 6: Profit
Step 7: ???
which minecraft.jar are you supposed to place the file? cause theres one in the folder bin and three others in the jars folder. so help me please!
There is no jars folder in a default install of minecraft which means you made that folder. Process of elimination means the answer to your question is.....

Installation:
[*:1icupybc] Backup minecraft.jar
[*:1icupybc] Open minecraft.jar
[*:1icupybc] Delete META-INF
[*:1icupybc] Overwrite any *.class files with modded versions
[*:1icupybc] Copy the "org" folder into the base of minecraft.jar
[*:1icupybc] ????
[*:1icupybc] PROFIT!
How to use:
Basically, this namer is very simple. What it does is look for a file "name.txt" within your save folder, then takes the first line of that text file and uses it as the name of the world. For space reasons it also will truncate any name longer than 20 characters.
So basically, on my linux machine my saves are stored in "~/.minecraft/saves", so if I wanted to call my second world "ZOMGCATZ!", I would create the file "~/.minecraft/saves/World2/name.txt", and make sure the first line was "ZOMGCATZ!". That's all there is to it.
Also, if you want to force calculation of disk space for your world, you can create a file called "calculate_size.txt" within the directory of the world you wish to force size calculation. Note: this will cause there to be a slight pause when entering the world selection screen, as file size is force calculated on the fly.
Hope people like this mod.
