I came up with another design for the retrieval system, that uses less resources and space. Your design helped me on the way, Afforess. If you want to save some iron, you can lay minetracks to make the cart return instead of a bumper cart. Also, if you want to save some wood, it is possible to skip the wooden pressure plate.Green with player in cart, red without.
right, I'm getting frustrated. FYI, I'm running the linux version, so please no windows help. I've deleted the /bin folder so I have a clean install. copied the two files over into the /bin/minecraft.jar file (where the rest of the class files are), and try to delete the meta folder, to which there isn't one. So I try and run minecraft and it fails. So thinking the meta is in the downloaded minecraft.jar from the main site, I look there, find it (I find no class files in this jar), delete it, and minecraft doesn't even start up. so I redownload the file, delete the two mojang files and leave the third file. Minecraft then starts, but I get a blank screen. Is there a glitch somewhere, or am I completely dense? I have the latest version (1.3 at the time of this). I would like to think I'm pretty adept at this, but I'm doing something horribly wrong somewhere. Anyone help?
Check the readme, it lists how to do a manual install, step by step.

Sorry to jump in with a noob question, but is this multi-player supported?
Nope. Minecarts don't work in MP in the first place.

Very elegant. I like it. I'll definitely use that design for more advanced setups.

Thank you for answering my silly question. I was just bragging to my servermates about how AWESOME my carts are in singleplayer and I just wanted to know if it would be possible to build the same to demonstrate to them. >:smile.gif:
I tried out both versions, and it seems like the non-Autocart version isn't working at all. Every plate (wood and stone) stops the cart. The Autocart version worked great (except that it doesn't play well with my double-stacked carts, but that isn't your fault).
Semi-related, any chance you could make your Autocart mod prevent deceleration while the cart is in the air? That slowdown is the whole reason I stack two carts (so they can jump over large gaps).
I did read and follow all directions. Still didn't work for me. Know what did though? using xao's patcher thingy. For whatever reason, I decided on a whim to reload my texture pack, and just for giggles install this, and it worked. I'm happy now. Thank you for making a cool mod! :smile.gif:
I'm just not bothering to update Minecraft. It's such a piddling little update it's not worth the bother.
A little OT, but how do you prevent MC from updating? I haven't been able to figure that out. Thanks!
Disconnect from the internet before you log into minecraft, reconnect once the game is running.
My solution more simple and effective: no wait for start up
I'm using ESS, add a rule prevent C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe form connecting to Internet, after pressed the login button, "play offline" show up immediately. You need update, disable the rule. No need, active it again
'cause all minecraft.exe use the same Java launcher in C: this rule works no matter where your minecraft directory is, you can have "minecraft 1.1" "minecraft 1.2" "minecraft 1.2.1" or more folders, the rule will works for all
So I've got the bridgemod, which is supposed to work with modLoader 1.11. now it doesn't, and someone's uploaded a mini-patch to make bridgemod still work, but without modLoader1.11.
Does this mean pressure plate autocart won't work either? I've had it crash both used alone and with modLoader1.11.
I've got another duplication glitch. I was testing my track, and apparently it doesn't bode well if you have a 90degree curve, and an incline right after. I got buried in the dirt for the second time. So I dug my cart out and then clicked on it to pick it up, and it seemed to split itself into two new carts right before my eyes! D: But this only happened on the second time. I think a different part of the track, but still..
So, I'm getting an error when I try to place a minecart. I've tested it with your mod being the only one installed, and I'm still getting a crash.
The exact message is:
Minecraft has crashed!

You are using version 1.2, not 1.3 Update to the latest version.
I don't know if it is just me, but it doesn't seem like the Pressure Plate mod version of autocart works as well as the native Autocart used to. It seems to get hung up sometimes, and I have less luck pausing it and restarting it (especially going up) than with native autocart.
Alright, I'd like some feedback on some ideas I have for the next version of this mod. I love the autocart mod, but I feel that it is basically a stop-gap for really strange Minecart mechanics Notch made. A true fix would be to have separate booster and brake blocks, which I aim to add. ATM, on my computer, I have a booster block (the gold block in the game) that increases your speed as your minecart passes over it. To use it, you put a gold block under the track, then lay the track overtop of it, and it increases you speed significantly. It won't have any effect on stopped carts, and they can be put next to each other to make larger boosters.
Also, I have it so the slowsand from the nether acts as a brake block. Placing it underneath track slows minecarts down more than normal, so that about 5 of them in a row will bring a full speed cart to a stop.
Do each of those mechanics sound good? Would you prefer a brake/booster system over autocart?
One last thing - I love the ability to change direction and speed mid-travel in your cart by pressing the direction you want to go. I want to keep that ability in this booster/brake system, but nerf it significantly, so it propels you only 2-3 blocks forward. Would you want me to keep it that way, or remove it completely?

Hi I'm new here! Um afforess when I Installed the autocrat version it doesn't let me ride. And no I do not have the first autocart patched. Am I missing something? Also I'm not beanie at this :smile.gif:

im pretty sure that you change the hosts file to block the updater, i know the website ip is 194.28.157.42

In any case, would you mind if I posted up a merged mod of this and More Stackables, so that pressure plates can both be stacked and ridden over?
dose this work for rock plates?
Go right ahead. Just credit myself and Birdcloud.
Works for all pressure plates, wooden or stone.

Mine idea :here
Could you be more specific about the problem?
