Just what I was thinking. If Notch would hurry up and add dyes and the abilty to colour glass on the crafting table or on the 'alchemy bench' I'd be in seventh heaven!
I hit upon that stained glass idea a while ago and a reasonable means of doing so over in another suggestion thread here, but I probably should have posted it in its own topic.

I love that idea of yours DerrikeG, that is just the way I would like it to go. All that mixing of minecraft elements to get just the right colour of glass would be so satisfying and...well... 'crafty'. This would add so much to foraging, 'farming', design and Minecraft in general. Oh please, Minecraft gods, let this be so!
That'd be nice but I'd think notch would wait until he adds colored lights to add stained glass.
This is another of those chicken and egg situations. If we had stained glass we could colour our lights in a way by sticking a stained glass block in front. Or we could have coloured lights and make our glass coloured. I just hope either way, we have more control over the finished colour than just a limited palette. So much could be done to effect the look of our worlds. However, I am not a programmer, so have no idea if this would even be possible. :sad.gif:
I think colored lighting would be possible but it would mean a hit on memory usage as he would have to track more data for the lighting. (3 colors vs just a brightness value)
I'd dearly love true alpha channel support though. Leaves, glass, snow, and items could look so much better.

Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.
I haven't seen it so I'm guessing not but I thought I'd ask. I use paint.net.

Whoops! Sorry for the double post!
