1. that was from a loooooong time ago. who the hell cares about a convo from that out of date?
2. there is no electricity thus can not be a 'clock'. given the technology avialable in minecraft it is a sundial
3. every single post i make in this entire forum i expect 1 thing from people. Intelligence. The ability to think rationally as a human being and not a mere monkey. If you read the word 'sundial' you should at a minimum have your train of thought going along the lines of 'some device that tells time'. So i was argueing the point back then mostly because i thought the person was just being stupid, and to fix the problem (problem being that persons unwillingness to apply thought to a situation) I figure id go ahead and argue the word until the concept that there is no difference between a clock/sundial/watch/mystical time rock sunk into their head.
4. since you felt the need to bring this up you are obviously JUST AS STUPID and unwilling to apply common sense or minor due process of thought. So im spelling it out. Bluntly. Least back then the person finally caught on. You had a chance to read the whole conversation at once and still didnt get it. Wow I feel bad for you.
5. have a nice day. hope you learn to think before randomly argueing. Actually taking a moment to use your brain will take you further in life than just reacting on first impulses.
after your last few ultra nice posts, I thought someone might have high jacked your screen name
glad I was in error
missed your scathing remarks
this forum needs a little more "parental" guidance than it now has- a disparaging older brother is always good incentive to improve yourself- I think you do a good job in the unasked for role
:tongue.gif:
your vitriolic wit is a refreshing breeze in a morass of ignorance
some may consider you a little(lot?) harsh- but considering the sheer inability to read or follow basic instructions exhibited by an unpleasantly large portion on this forum, I consider it pretty fair in all
I've never been password jacked so highly doubtful that will ever happen. My standard password has 2 upper case, 2 lower case, 2 numbers, 2 symbols, and 2-4 additional characters. And by standard i mean 'pattern'. Use unique passwords per place that requires one.
Also i never try to be nice (or rude) I just treat people based on how they act. And lately the forums havent had nearly as many monkeys pretending to be higher primates. Few still slip in though =-)
I DO do most my modding for my kids and my neice and 2 nephews. They mostly want recipe tweaks or simple little additions. And I periodically install something for them that they find here in the forums that they want. Except step son, he does all his own installation. Not even 12 and can figure out how to get modloader working flawlessly. He isnt a computer genius by any means. He likes WOW of all things (shudders). He just happens to be willing to read instructions and follow them.

...scathing remarks...vitriolic wit...
Someone has been reading a lot of http://questionablecontent.net lately huh? Hmm that puts me in the mood to go to the local Coffee of Doom here (actually its called Mean Bean but same thing).

You're the one who seems to be in an argument, though I'm not sure who with.
Real quick I thought #2 was funny. Obviously you need some google time yourself to do a bit of learning. I would put in "Clock History"
It's comical that you expect intellect when conversing on these forums then at the same time don't feel "required" to bring any to your posts in return. I'm not sure why you think that "I don't get it". I get it alright, my original posts was going to quote the first inquiry about the recipe saying something along the lines of "I think he's referring to the Clock" but then was blinded by your arrogant responses to users of your own mod. I thought setting you on the right track so in the future you wouldn't come off as a **** would be more beneficial to a person who obviously needs it, and confirmed this was the right route to take when someone lower down addressed that you were in fact referring to the Clock.
That said, I don't "feel bad" for you for your subpar-intellectual-rage response (made that word up on the spot), I just hope this reply will put your mindset in the right place so you can understand not only what I said, but the context in which I said it.
I wouldn't say you see the glass half empty, I'd say you see disagreements as reason for retaliation and need to work on viewing every statement said to you not just online but in life in a dissociative manner so the correct context is very clear. Then and only then, you could relay your thoughts without coming off as a complete ****.
There is no argument here, just an info-post. (Informative Post)
Ignoring that one guy who comes off as way more arrogant and pissy than the OP, I understand that you're on vacation, but could someone could point me to an updated Server History mod? The words "server" and "history" are too common to effectively search this entire post or the forum (actually the search feature just refuses to even do it at all). If it hasn't been updated, then I'd like to request that it is. If it never will be, for whatever reason, I'd like a point to the post that gives details. Thanks in advance.

Actually the only reason i stopped updating it is because my stepson decided to figure out how to host his own server for him his sister and my sisters kids. Since they only needed to know 1 IP address I no longer had reason to keep updating something to track the history of so many possible servers (i dont play SMP at all personally).
The source code is included in the link provided in the OP if anyone feels like updating it themselves. You're the first person to actually even mention that mod since Beta was released and it never broke a few hundred downloads for any given version of the mod so I just assumed someone else was making a better one. Its honestly not all too difficult a task so if no one else wants to update it I will probably have time to do that late saturday evening or sometime sunday.
I just wanted it because I remembered using it in Alpha when I was searching for a new server to call home. Visit a few a day, not getting too attached, just to see how the community interacts (or doesn't), etc. Then in Beta I found a server I liked, so I only needed to remember one ip. Only now it's imploded...so I'm basically homeless and server surfing again. I thought the mod would be useful, rather than keeping a list of every server ip like I do now.

Well as I said if someone else updates it I dont mind but if not i'll have time to do it for you either tomorrow evening or sunday some time. Its not really a hard mod to update between client changes.
Server History updated to MC 1.2_02 beta. Source code uses MCP class names so will be easy for someone else to port to future client versions if I decide not to update it further.
I was wondering if you could make a Auto Back-up mod that backs-up your world every 5 minutes or so (this could be configurable), it would back-up to a folder in .minecraft > backups > [world name] > [Date&Time]
I just lost my favorite world to a random windows update that shut off my computer. SO PISSED
Well i dont use Phobia myself so hadnt tested Rics version of it. Just installed the phobia files for cows, pigs and chickens. Not Surprisingly when i started up the game the only animal spawning was sheep.
So while im not gonna bother testing if the sheep file works i gaurentee the other 3 animal files work flawlessly when installed properly. Please recheck your installation instructions and try again.
Ive tested all of them except the squid and they all work. If the animal was there when you saved your world then you gotta either wait for them to despawn or kill them.
Hallelujah Server History is back. I haven't played SMP since it left us since it was so convenient to use.
Thank you.
I updated it for the first person to request =-) Always feel free to (politely/respectfully) ask a modder to update a mod that they might have abandoned. Well after reading through their thread and making sure they flat out dont want to ever again.
I figured I'd try out Server History since you've been so kind as to update it, and your other mods are incredible. I'm used to the snarky Readmes, but I can't get Server History to work. I dragged the classes in, ignored the source code, and I see no menu or anything different in Multiplayer. I can tell nothing is working because not even the escape button will clear the IP address field. Is it possible this is just conflicting harmlessly with another mod? Seems unlikely since I'm 99.9% positive nothing I have even mentions ie.class.
Sorry if this ends up being a waste of time.
EDIT: wasted your time if you saw this. I had forgotten that my computer has suddenly decided that when I drag files into the .jar, it should create about 13 folders with the copied files inside the deepest folder.

Good thing you figured it out cause im all out of snark for the day and wouldnt want to disappoint. here is a consolation prize instead.
That aside you're using winzip arent you? Its the only program i've heard listed when that issue comes up. I'll advocate 7zip 9.x branch any day over every other archive utility.
