I wish to shamelessly solicit you to update CelestialSundial. TeleCompass is working for me, but some little thing seems to throw Sundial off and I'm sad because it's making me use zombe's modpack - which conflicts with other things.
Bleh.
Please and thank you.

I'll be home in about 3-4 hrs. Will update minecraft and check into it then. I dont know anything about zombe's modpak but Single Player Commands mod supposedly has some great features that probably has fewer conflicts. I know its included in the Community Pak.
Either way will check out the sundial when i get home.
OK just went through and reinstalled everything from scratch on a clean .minecraft folder just to make sure I have the latest of everything. And Sundial works. Well at least when i toggle 'need sundial' to false it works. I dont -have- a sundial in my current save game to see if it applies damage to the sundial correctly but the hotkeys function and scroll wheel works when you put it in free mode.

Can you explain what wasnt functioning for you ?
Wow, Seronis, you went out of your way to test that. What happened to telling them 'if it's not working, you didn't read the instructions'? ;-) You and I both knew Sundial was fine.

Actually I hadnt tested it since either of the two bugfix releases because my own kids hadnt been playing so figure I might as well just this once =-)
Well, you demonstrated the correct difference between "too" and "to", so you're already better off than most who post here. ;-) In other words, don't sell yourself short. If you really want to try them, do your research, follow all directions and you'll be fine. :-)

Can you explain what wasnt functioning for you ?
I honestly can't. It's probably due to the solid 60+ mods I have cooperating precariously alongside it, but I've gotten this far:
CelestialSundial shows up in the Mod Settings menu and allows me to change settings. (I set needSundial=false)
Yet neither scrolling nor dawn/dusk toggling actually has any effect on the sun position.
I've racked my brain trying to find out what could be causing this conflict, and I can confirm that it does work on a clean install, but I'm drawing a blank. Perhaps you'd be able to offer some insight if I were to PM you my modlist?

well a modlist wont help me. But if you want to figure it out yourself you just look at what files they edit. Any mod that edits any of the 9 files in ModLoader will cause a conflict with modloader enabled mods.
OptiMine modifies nh.class; Zan's Mod modifies pe.class. Both are stated ModLoader compatible. (I know, you didn't read the modlist. I understand.) Those are the only two which even touch on ML's seven classes. (edit: 7 two-letter classes. I know of no mod which modifies BaseMod or ModLoader.class.)
All the rest of my ModLoader-based mods also work; it's just the sun that's having issues.
I'm the meticulous sort who would keep a log of EVERY class and file EVERYTHING modifies - and to be honest I wouldn't have requested your help if I knew what to do here, because you have a reputation of being snide with people you believe are being ignorant.
I followed your instructions and 48 more sets of 'em to the letter, and everything except Sundial has rewarded me.
Now, please, return to your Fallout: NV. So sorry I troubled you. I'll go cope with zombe's mod.

You'll notice i also wasnt snide with you =-) I used Zans map before and its only modloader compatible if you download the version of it that is modloader compatible. The version that is NOT modloader compatible will prevent any mod that uses OSDHook (which is used to intercept keyboard input) not function. This would cause the problem you are having. Other things would too but this definately would.
Easiest way to test if this mod was the cause, would be for you to drag the pe.class file from your moadloder archive into the minecraft.jar. If sundial suddenly starts working you downloaded the wrong version of zans map.
Oh and if this DOESNT fix your problem you obviously need to drag the pe.class from your zans map download back into the minecraft.jar as you need it for the map to work properly.

Wouldn't this also cause Zombe's mod, which not only intercepts inputs but adds keymaps, to not work? I am certain that I'm using the correct version - Zan097 - but it's possible that since I had to use the source version (and not the installer) that something went wrong somewhere.
I appreciate you not immediately snapping at my seeming ignorance, but as it seems I'll be content with Zombe's version of the ability to be the God of Time in my Minecraft world.
Thank you for your time.
I would like to bug you to release a new version of phobia relief ASAP. I've been looking for a mod like that for quite some time, simply because the spiders in MC almost ruin the game for me with my arachnophobia, yet the game just isn't as fun on peaceful. I'm surprised it isn't more popular with the reasonable amount of requests I've seen for other people wanting to remove a particular mob, most notably creepers, too. I would be very grateful if you could update it when you get back to modding. =)
I went ahead and linked from the OP to your post so people can find it easier. Kids started playing a little more MC again this week so looks like if notch updates soon i'll have a little motivation to update the mods when I get time between work shifts.
Dude, I love this mod, I was hoping that you could update it soon for Beta 1.1.02. It is great I love it so much. thanks much
Ryan
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Hey guys, Im Ryan. I was introduced to Minecraft just about a month ago and I am currently only playing on the free version, Ill be buying the full version.
ValueError: invalid literal for int<> with base 10: '.txt'
are there any known fixes? And if not, is there anyway I can remove worlds omega's effect on level.dat. Deleting the mod from minecraft.jar doesn't work
Theres no sundial in the normal play either. There is a clock and a compass....
No there is a SunDial and a Compass. The only clock is the one available with risugamis SignTags mod.
No actually I believe you're trying to refer to the Clock.
Consider the following... Regardless of it's actual function, the item itself was in fact deemed "Clock".
Why would you relentlessly disregard posts with outright rude responses expecting the user to make the connection between your personal term and the items ACTUAL name.
If you are this frustrated about the items name, maybe you should make a suggestion in the appropriate place, instead of transferring it to the users of your mods.
Bleh.

Worlds Omega doesnt touch level.dat ?
Which mod?
Not a waste as you figured out the problem. Glad its resolved for you.
