Updated to 0.5 - Fixed tab-to-reply so that it puts a space after the name.
- Added a frame to the map. Included are three examples by Skizot, themed after the popular texture paks. Pick the one you like, RENAME IT TO "minimap.png" and add it along with the class files.
If you forget to rename it to minimap.png or add one at all, it's black screen time again.
Which did you forget to do, delete the mojang.* files in the jar or install the overlay?

The download doesn't seem to work.
Just tried it and it works here. *shrug*

It's a very nice mod for minecraft, but in my opinion it takes out that exploration feeling of the game.
But yeah, it rocks anyways ;D
Thanks :smile.gif: Really, it was more of a "can this be done" thing at first. In the end I tried to make it so that it doesn't give away anything you can't already get from using something like Cartographer alongside it, and 2 chunks in each direction is pretty much what you can see just by spinning round. There's really no need for it to have real time lighting but it was a case of if I didn't put it in there, you'd have an advantage at night, because the map would be lit up still.
Can you make the map a little brighter during the day? It's so depressing to look at.
Also can you add missing blocks like stairs? They are currently see-through.
Ha! Nicely spotted. Yes, I'll add in the missing block types, I totally forgot I still had some of them to add (this doesn't use the textures from terrain.png, it looks each block type up against a palette of colours I picked to try and look like the real ones, and faced with 80 or so blocks I was like... "will anyone notice...?" :wink.gif:
And the colour balance, I will have another go at. Currently it adds together the base block colour, the heightmap, and the lighting. It's the heightmap blending that's currently making it look dismal in the day.
If you can make it show a layout of nearby caves that you have discovered while underground, you will be the best thing since sliced bread.
Or somewhat.
i copied the class files into the jar, but when i open minecraft and login the screen turns black? help plz =)
i deleted both of the mojang files...
thanks!

Are you sure because, North is left on my minimap. Up is East for me! :sad.gif:

Hmmm, why is it that MrMessiah and Notch are never in the same place at the same time?
