I've been pondering the redstone actually and have an idea of what I want to do.
In the meantime I took some shots illustrating the use of the iron/gold/diamond blocks from my latest version of the texture. ( In the original post it's the "no faces + decorative blocks" alt version. )

I love this, very spooky and creepy! I'm definitely in favor of the faces in the wall as ores. It's all the more disturbing to have to smack the material out of them.
... and the grassless dirt looked a little better then I would definitely use this.
Looked better how? It's supposed to look like a pile of bones. You need to a little more specific.
As for the ores, yea sure, I can throw something together that's a little less campy.
In other news, I have a black widow skin for the spider done but the pig is STILL giving me problems.
I've uploaded a black boar skin that looks marginally better than the old mottled one but something odd is being done with the color pallet for animal skins that's making me want to pull my hair out.
It looks like the pallet is getting reduced in size which is causing some pretty bad artifacts. I kind of liked the effect it had on the cow but it doesn't work on the pig. I suppose I just need to figure out what's the maximum number of colors I can use before it breaks.
OOOOoooh, it was bones... I didn't see that at first, I thought the dirt looked a bit fleshy TBH, and was expecting it to look a bit more dirty than fleshy.
Put in new crops and updated the items to match.
Now you dig up teeth instead of seeds. When planted teeth grow into bones (you can tell they are ripe when they start glowing green). Bones can then be harvested for bone meal to make your bread.

Random zombie heads can now be found scattered about the landscape. You can shove a torch in them to make a handy alternative light source. There is some speculation that zombie heads find this quite uncomfortable but it is uncertain if anyone cares what a zombie head feels.
Shot showing the new hel blocks + lit zombie head. (yes, I recycled some textures from the flesh themed pack I never finished)
I also added some more subtle color changes for biomes and replaced tnt with creeper heads.
(as usual, see the first post for downloads and such.)

Updated the .zip to work with the texturepack picker.
You can get it here haunted.zip or you can follow the download link in the first post.
Note that the texture pack tool in the game doesn't seem to apply the biome color files so if you want the best experience possible go into the /misc folder in the .zip and apply the files in it by hand.

Redstone ore is now more of a purple slime.

This is PERFECT. I am totally using this now, thanks for the awesome texture, now if I can just figure out how to put it in my game...

A shot showing off some of the new 1x1 pictures.

How? lol
Make the monsters spooky too and this will be epic
Thanks for creating this skin, man. I actually used it in a video of mine recently.
If you want, you can check it out .
Keeping posted to see what happens with this next.
