I'd really like Valeria Valley to use on my Multiplayer Survival server, however i seem to be running into problems with MCedit. I dunno if it's my computer or me failing, but could you give a try and porting the map for Survival? I'd be super greatful!

I've converted almost all of Zhatt's levels to Alpha Survival format. Download here. I've moved all of the player and spawn positions myself to make sure they were on land.
Candyland won't be converted unless you like lots of white, white candy. The tall mountain doesn't fit more than 1/4 of its height into an Alpha level. Mars was renamed to Luna. Also, one correction. The dimensions of Valeria Valley are 512 wide by 1024 long by 128 high.
I've got the fjord on my server right now for anyone who wants a look: 67.49.184.249
Addendum: This batch job created over 20,000 files and incurred 60,000 disk writes. Between that and my attempt at creating a 256x256 chunk level, I had to low level format my SSD the following day.
That's because half of "Zhatt's" maps are taken right from the Sims. They're stock maps for the Sims 3 Create-A-World tool. Unless there's merely some common ancestry they both took their heightmaps from, he should probably be ashamed of himself.
Actually that's not true. The proof is that while these images are 32 bit, The Sims Create-A-World needs weird-ass 16 bit greyscale images, or it makes a weird double map.
Believe me, I tried.
Edit: They may be Simcity 4 region maps though... I have work to do.
Edit II: What I meant to say was I may be able to use these for Simcity 4. I just think faster than I type. :tongue.gif:

I have no idea what you two are talking about. As I've stated a few times before, I made all these maps from scratch with Photoshop and OMEN.
I have made maps for Simcity 4 before, and the process is similar, but it still starts with creating a grey-scale image in an image editor. I know nothing about the Sims world creation tool, but I doubt it would have any compatibility with Minecraft. But thanks for trolling.
Any chance of you making a map with islands in the sky? I know there is skylands but I am dying to see one with a huge landmass in the sky and then tiny islands on the ground level...kinda like a mix of plateaus, broken islands, and atoll...
Size: 512x512x128
Made form real mars data (not to scale).
Awesome!
How did you create that map?
Did you write a program to read the DEM data directly?
If so, what format? (DTED, BIL, GEOTIF, E00, Shapefile, ASCII, DXF, etc.)

Sorry, that's not particularly easy with the meathod I'm using. I'm also not making any maps right now becuase I'm not even sure if everythings compatible anymore with the new minecraft.

I stared out looking for some raw elevation data, but I couldn't find what I wanted nor could I really work with the data, so I just grabed a grayscale heightmap from an image search and messed with the contrast.
Use Mediafire. They're reliable (unlike many others i've tried).
You can find a zip of all the maps here and a zip of all the heightmaps here.
Not, like, literally, but like... ugh nevermind *holds up 'I AM NOT GAY' sign*
Anyway, these are exactly what I needed. Thanks!
CAUSE I'M AWESOME.
Fixed.
And fixed.
Let me see what you end up doing with the height maps. I''m curious.

"We will absolutely not keep in mind what external mapeditors will have to do to read data from the disk, that makes no sense whatsoever." - Grum
Is all that one map, or are they saved into separate pieces?
Each level is its own map. I just threw them together for the picture.

Thanks Codewarrior. I'll put the link in the first post.
Is there any possibility of adding any ores to these maps?
Just the indev ores would be nice, I wouldn't care if there were no Redstone or anything...
But seriously, mining is pretty dull in these levels.
Pretty please?
With sugar and diabetes?
i need a tutorial!
Well, I could have sworn I'd seen those in CAW but I've gone back and don't see them there. Must be my memory playin' tricks on me.
Mod Addendum: Let's not throw around near-baseless accusations, now. Further violations will be punishable.
