I got bored and I saw someone saying they wanted to change the sky colour in Minecraft and thought if there was anything I could do without editing images or setting the colour in the map file... so I turned to Cheat Engine and edited the memory address, conveniently only 2 values with 0x0099CCFF and I got the right one on the first try. Whoop.
Sorry for crap quality, also, you'll get the idea the video is boring as it is, so yeah. Just demonstrating.
I'm pretty sure all you have to do is color in the transparency of clouds.png to get the color of the sky. I made the image all black and it made a completely black sky, minus the sky outside of the map, which is slightly brighter.

Only problem with that is if you build up to the top of the map, and jump, you'll peek above the clouds, and see the normal sky color. Of course, this is something that doesn't normally happen too often outside of multiplayer, but still.
I think it'd be nice if we could actually get server settings or something like that to change sky and fog color, actually.
Cool. are there any other colours (like fog) that we can change? and Im not talking about terrain.png mods. Also, can you save the sky colours? im gessin that this is how u made RED SKY HAX.

I concur.

You can change the sky and cloud color via the map file.
Edit: But it doesn't seem to work on the server... weird...

Wow man... just click hex, then enter 0099CCFF then click first scan..... its the second value
On older maps it's a little different. I can't remember the exact value though.
Of course it will work. The variable is and always has been there.
You can hack out of jail( I learned my lesson, underd0g), spawn any block type on modded servers, create a makeshift wallhack, and a few other things.
