1. Download the .jar file.
2. Change the extension to .zip
3. Unzip it
4. Open the file that appears
5. Edit the terrain.png file using whatever you want
6. Put the edited terrain file into your Macintosh HD
7. Load up minecraft
That works for me. Of course, if you already have the edited terrain file, you can just put that into your macintosh HD, rather than go through those steps.
The only way that could happen is:
1. You are not using whatever program you are using properly to make transparencies.
2. You saved it in the wrong format.
You can generally tell if it is a number 1 as most programs have an alternating white and gray background for transparencies, and always save it as a .png file.
hmm, im scared of trying this.
My computer is full of crap.
i only know about... one eight of all the things that are in it.
who knows if there's a virus waiting to be executed?

How do I reskin the brown mushrooms so it wont have this stupid black background? Even when I change the black background to white its there.
I reskin in MS paint, and use 7-zip, if that gives you any clue to the answer of my question.
There's your problem.
MS Paint doesn't support transparency, so it'll come up black. Use Paint.net instead. It does support transparency and it does work.
Hey, just wondering, how can I do a fakeout link, I got the mods working but i wanna be able to fakeout so I can have like www.mobmod.minecraft.net or w/e lol
Password stealer much?
Your site might get shut down.
It's not a password stealer. Only Notch can have .minecraft.net, it's configured so that ANYTHING.minecraft.net is minecraft.net but with a different name. If you go to http://psych.minecraft.net it's still minecraft.net, just with a new domain for making skins of minecraft.

That link will only work for you; edit the files in that folder. So if you go to http://silentangelix.minecraft.net it'll create a folder called "silentangelix.minecraft.net", so you edit the files in there. You can ONLY use that link yourself, sending to others won't work.

Question: I re-skined some of the blocks, but the first time i tested they didn't show up, but after i refreshed the tab, my skins were there. Any idea why this happened, or am i just crazy?

If the new skins for the blocks is there, what is the problem? You probably just got a slow computer.
Well then how come if i change the skins for blocks, they don't show up for a few games
BUT if i change the skins for anything else [IE] then the skin shows up?
Is it like just some error while loading?
I think I figured it out. What you have to do is:

Lol, so we eat the sword to get heath? make it the other way round. and change the mushy. (although the mushy is already awesome!)
No, it's perfectly safe. It's a fake-subdomain. Your computer thinks it's a new domain, but it's actually just a different URL for the same domain.
