I run a small minecraft server and recently set a new map which the regulars on my server seemed to like. They've asked me to post it up here, so I figured I'd provide it if anyone else is looking for a 1/2 and 1/2 map and could use a spawn prison. If you think it's something you can use, download it. Map dimensions are 512x512x128, with water up to a height of 63.
The jail in the map is 150x256x128 tiles (just under a third of the land area), giving users plenty of room to build on the server even when admins aren't present. Overall, it's a simple setup, with a rectangle surrounding the whole jail every other layer (even underground) and two layers of 1x1x2 spawn traps placed to ensure no-one can spawn glitch out the roof.
The only other interesting fact is that there is a layer of admin block around the entire land portion of the map to keep water strictly locked out.
Screenshots seem superfluous for a map like this, but I guess it's better to provide them if anyone has any questions.

hm,can you send me a screen shot of that? I had some people testing it to try to get out and none of them had any luck - the top 6 layers of the map are a big grid of spawn jails...it's like this from the side:
So, yes, a player could use the spawn glitch to try to get through the roof, but he'd immediately be caught in one of those 1x1x2 spawn jails, where he has no room to place anything and thus no way to escape.
Or at least that was the intention. Looking at it in OME, I'm not seeing how you would have gotten out w/o removing an admin block.
If you get a chance, could you hop on my server and show me real quick? It's here.
Thanks, I'm just trying to build this to keep griefers relatively contained but not inconvenience everyone when an op isn't around.

Anyways, hope this is useful to someone.

It's like:

Where .. is a blank block separation point and _ is the base/top of a solid block. :] Genius.
Edit: No wait, it's flawed. I could easily climb up there place some blocks where i spawn (by moving out of the way) then spawn again on top. -.-"
Tested and it goes something like
_

Which works :biggrin.gif:
