Every wolf will have particles or something like that
so the wolves won't be annoying.
if we did a fire trail
we will here a lot of complaints of people having their wooden house burned down
you don't want a water wolf to flood your house in a few seconds.
Well I dont think the water wolf has to have a water trail behind it because water doesnt do damage and its just very messy. With the ice wolf even though snow doesnt do damage its a cool add on that isnt really annoying. As for the people being annoyed that there houses burnt down there are 3 things we could do.
1. Just tell them to make houses our of cobble or something.
2. Make them craft an item to spawn the fire wolves (like bones surrounding a fire charge or whatever)
3. (my favorite) Make them spawn in forest biomes and place like that where no1 builds a house anyway.
OH RIGHT BIG THING I FORGOT TO MENTION
After 1.6 the coding for minecraft changed ALOT so i still code for 1.5.2 (im not the only one a lot of people still code for 1.5.2 its very different in 1.6)
Did you make that!??!?! Thats awesome! But besides that i think that doomerboy wanted the mob to actually have a trail of fire, but i can get him to be on fire (like a blaze does) but not actually burn anything so the items dont burn.
Or, you could make the fire last for two seconds and vanish, so it doesn't burn anything and only disappears.

oh do we need modloader though that's what I needed to know! And yes, I'm back.

I use eclipse for all of my codding, and yeah i use modloader.
If the fire lasts for 2 secs. only it will still burn the item upon death. Right when the mob dies after 2 seconds the fire under him will vanish, but it takes a full 2 seconds for that and it doesnt take 2 seconds for the item to burn so right when he dies the items will still burn.
Fire Wolf: Spawns in the nether. Drops actualy fire so players can make chain armour and drops fire bones.
Water Wolf: Could spawn in the water as a second water animal (the other is the squid). Or could make a new biome for the water wolf. Drops water bones.
Glowstone Wolf: Also spawns in the nether. Drops glowstone and glowstone dust.
Ice Wolf: Spawns in Tagai biomes. Drops ice bones.
Earth Wolf: Spawns in extreme hills biome. Is the strongest wolf but has less health then the rest. Drops cobble and rocky bones that are use to make......A wolf golem, well all the ones can but them together like so.

It has about the same strength as an iron golem is faster but has less health. It will be called the elemental wolf and he will follow you around like a normal wolf does.
can we use the new launcher or do we need to use minecraft bin.
I was thinking of making it its own launcher but i have a small bug i need to work out first b4 i show u the mod its a little bit of work to make it a launcher though so for now just download eclipse and open WolfCraft/eclipse and run it, that will also give you the mod.
They look good but I need the textures to be the same shape as the wolf mob. Have you ever made a texture pack? You need to look at the wolf.png in the minecraft folder (if you use a mac you need to make the minecraft folder out of the .jar) then you edit that picture so it looks firey or whatever you need to make it. I'll post a link soon to what i mean.
Hey! When the mod is in beta or done, i can make an auto installer for people that want to go the easy way! And why would you need a launcher for just one mod? Haha
I would like to help, but I am working on a mod of my own but I have a suggestion, you should add different biomes that each wolf is unique to and when you are in that biome the wolf's power is increased.

Because WolfCraft is going to be a very big mod. I plan for over 20 wolves and items.

Try these textures out and see how it looks
these are just fillers
unless they look good enough.
