Me and a friend were making a personal modpack, and I, being a big fan of CrazyCraft, wanted OreSpawn. The trouble is, our pack is a modified version of FTB Revelation, and that's 1.12. Orespawn is 1.7.10. Is there a way to convert it to 1.12.2? Just to clarify, this is for personal use only, and I do not know any Java.
The only way to update a mod to a newer version is to recompile the source (ideally, it is open-source but it is also possible, but often difficult, to decompile a mod), and going from 1.7.10 to 1.12.2, or even 1.8, is a huge leap which will require extensive code changes to make it compatible (many mods stopped updating at 1.7.10 because of the changes to rendering in 1.8, in particular, you now need json files to store every single block and item model; I heard that some mods needed literally thousands of model files for a single block, or had to change them to use a tile entity renderer. Along with other changes this also has major implications for memory and resource usage).

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
