There isn't a folder above the datapacks main folder.
Sure, you can make a video on my datapack. It's not much, but it includes craftable music discs, doors back to wood, wool to string, and scaffolds that you don't need string to craft. I've just put in craftable golden apples and minable spawners but that's not in the one I posted.
It worked for me, I just extracted/opened the zip and it worked. It's not like a resource pack where you'd want to keep it zipped otherwise if it doesn't work unzip the pack and it will work as long as it's in the correct folder (resource pack or datapacks).
What I stated above is more for when you contain it in a zip file to store/host it for download/transport, when you want to use it you extract it and leave the folders like I stated only without the zip file level included (and no additional folders) and just put it into the datapacks folder.
Check the images below:
Otherwise in text form:
Zip (not needed as you will have unzipped the datapack)
Datapacks (the one under saves)
Datapack named folder (the top layer of the datapack and it's contents)
Datapack contents (mcmeta, function, recipe and other files for the datapack with it's deeper folders)
Otherwise thanks, from what I tested the jungle and wooden doors or trapdoor recipes don't work but everything else worked fine. Also the amounts are a lot for 1 wooden door/trapdoor to 6 so you get a lot more back than the 3 but I assume that's due to what you can do with datapacks for 1 to be an output over all 3 required to give you 6 back (unless you intended it that way? I only have small experience with datapacks not much, I never got any working, especially with recipes).

Level 1 of datapacks in the datapacks folder

You want to have the datapack outside the zip file and additional folders if you have any
Well it was outside. Google drive did that. Also I need it in a .zip specifically, I can't extract it.
As for the pack, you need 6 wood to craft a door/trapdoor, so you get 6 back. It's weird that you can't convert jungle doors back, as it works fine for me.
I don't know what to say as I'm just going off of experience with datapacks in many forms (with and without a resource pack and with deeper folders) so if you can't get it working besides that I don't have anything else I can suggest unfortunately.
Not sure why either really.

Exactly what the title says. I'm making a datapack with a bunch of custom crafting recipes, and it works unzipped. Thing is, when I sent it to a .zip file, it doesn't. You can download it here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qwlrIZLAM6nUTS3srSHNrCkWwNuiOUE7
Just thought I'd test it and it worked for me. From my experience if there is a folder above the datapack's main ones it won't work. For example:
ZIP (where you have it)
Random Folder (not needed, zipped should be at this level of folders)
Folder to contain the datapack related (this and below are needed)
MCMETA and other important datapack contents
Put it like that and it will work when you open it/want to load it up.
Your datapack sounds interesting though, mind if I make a video of it?

Besides that, my datapack still doesn't work as a zip.

Not sure if anyone cares but I had this same issue, and the fix was to make sure the pack.mcmeta was all lowercase, pack.MCMETA didnt work
