IIRC MC does this internally by instantiating a class. You should just be able to use new BlockSlab(Material.whatever) or similar wherever you're creating your blocks. There should be no need for a new block class.

Hello.
I am looking for a way to add slabs to my mod but finding it really difficult to find info on the internet that actually makes sense.
If you could help by posting links about this topic or posting examples it would be appreciated.

It doesn't seem to work. It gives me an error and says that BlockSlab is abstract and cannot be instantiated.
