AS A NOTE WHEN THIS IS RELEASED IT WILL BE IN A DIFFERENT FORUM SECTION
What is it?
Elements mod a mine craft mod that will add all the elements of the periodic table! This mod will also add combinations of different elements to make existing formulas such as hydrochloric acid.
How does it work?
You start by mining or climbing mountains to find un-pure elements witch you can put into a purifier to make a purified element, pure elements can be used to craft all different things.
Who's working on it?
Currently me and ghosrec35 are working on this mod when we find time for it.
Do we need help?
Currently no but if the need arises we will post here.
Do we know when it will be done?
no, however we are making a lot of progress
Will it be open source?
of course it will with the exception of you agreeing to the license
we will post screen shots and other information as the mod progresses
PLEASE NOTE THAT ASKING WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED WILL NOT SPEED OUR PROGRESS UP AT ALL
Things such as Radiation will be included. Elements will react just as they do in nature(If it works properly), and many, many, many new items will be craftable(E.G. New Armors and such, along with some other surprises along the way!)
We'll look into it :smile.gif:, sadly, my fellow coder above has not had time to plan this mod out with me, so i am not quite sure when we will resume coding, Anymore suggestions are completely welcome!
Good idea, though I am somewhat doubtful of how much you could really do this in Minecraft. However, it does sound interesting, and I am working on a Minecraft mechanics mod, so we should talk about compatibility between them. They might work cool together.
EDIT: Ugh, I didn't mean to quote that post. I was referring to the whole mod. :tongue.gif:
But by doubtful, I just mean I think there is too much to chemistry to really incorporate all (or even some, considering how complex everything is) of it into Minecraft. If it works though, I will be amazed, and absolutely use the mod. Awesome idea, just hard to implement into Minecraft.

That sounds like a great idea :smile.gif:
and lol, that's why I said we'll look into it, i'm pretty doubtful of it too, but hey, you never know :tongue.gif:
Well you first need to add some kind of gas first. With out it it'll just be another ore mod. Also I suggest you start with Hydrogen and work you way down... :smile.gif:
You could if your planning to make things react add a custom Enum class that lists all the elements and how reactive they are, this could then but used as a variable to determine if it'll react when the area is updated.
Buddy, we already have all 118 elements coded(Besides like, iron and stuff, a fair representation of that is already in the game, same with gold, etc) we just need to finish some final properties with them, then its on to all the new Armor, tools, specialty blocks, etc. Then we'll release the first version of it (Most likely), I'm just waiting for him to finish the Textures, so i can continue testing.
Added so far(Green = Definitely, Orange = As long as the community has no problem with its validity):
All the rest of the 118 known elements
Purifier block: Lets you purify elements(an example of this is that, purifying carbon will eventually get you Diamond!)
Should i create another version of this topic on our Joint team account, so that i may edit it too?
