Where am I supposed to put the image when I have a block or an item I put it in the bin folder but it never reads(I am also on a mac if thats any different)

you could just put it in the minecraft folder, but i suggest you make a folder of your own and be sure to change your code to read "/YourMod/YourImage.png")

It is referring to a file you SHOULD make. If people have a lot of mods, having that organization really helps. It also helps if your mod is badass, and someone once to include textures for it in their pack, they can easily add them.
