I have several different minecraft instances on the Curse client, each with their own set of mods, and it would be a lot easier to tell them apart if they had different thumbnails. Right now, they're all just the default image of Steve in diamond armor, fighting mobs in a cave. Can anyone tell me how to change the thumbnail in the modpack's settings? I've looked online but all I've found are explanations of how to add or remove mods.

Herb_, can u make a step by step how can i do this? I own a modpack in Technic Launcher and I want to put a custom icon to appear in the windows Taskbar when I open the modpack.
To change the thumbnail you would have to go through the process of publishing the mod-pack. The thumbnail is to show the difference of a published pack vs a custom one

Well then how come downloadable modpacks have their own custom images?
downloadable modpacks are different then custom profiles, mopack authors(like me) ARE REQUIRED to make an image that is relevant to the modpack
Then where do modpack authors (like you) put the image?

Here is step-by-step process that includes requirements of the custom logo when publishing a custom modpack on curseforge...
How to Upload and Publish your Custom Modpack on Curseforge | StickyPiston Hosting
The highlights of publishing requirements are:
1. need a 400x400 pixel logo for the modpack. Can't be a blank image or just your modpacks name.
2. Written description of your modpack.
Worth noting... "Descriptions are often where Curseforge rejects a modpack". Be sure to take time produce a well written description of modpack.
