So, i've started poking around 1.10.2 modpacks, since alot of them started popping up, eventually discovered that AE2 was in some of them aswell which made me want to play them that much more. But i've ran into an issue, since i'm used to having Thermal Expansion to get power from, now that it's not there i'm forced a bit out of my comfort zone. I'm more than willing to adapt but i will need some guidance to begin with. Currently i'm playing Direwolf20's 1.10.2 modpack, and if someone is willing to provide any help to get me started with energy production i would appreciate it alot.
Apologies for being a bit late, but unless I'm forgetting something, your best bet at the moment is probably something from forestry, however, if he ever adds mekanism, I would more than advise gas-burning generators using ethylene, it is quite cheap, produces 5000 tf2 per generator, give or take after the energy used to make the ethylene.

As someone who plays less known mods from curse besides mainstream I have a lot of ideas but if you want to keep it at RF (not counting EU as obvious) instead of new power apis like Tesla then that's fine.
-Mekanism (ore processing to x5, generators addon with windmills, bio generators, lava/coal, reactor)
-Extreme Reactors (big reactors revival).
-Simple Generators (five extra utils similar generators such as coal, culinary, lava, ender and nether star, have three tiers as of now, configs for recipe change if not want dragon's breath to upgrade them to next tier).
-TSON Craft (machines, power gen, new magic system, transmutation that's simple and for vanilla or the mod itself not any other mods in terms of transmutation values so its not that cheaty at all as the values are very low or I'm missing something)
-LightningCraft (machines, api called Lightning Energy, RF to LE and back again, dimension for rpg-ish feel in my opinion and allows for more difficulty to get tools, armour and power storage upgrades in terms of machine upgrades/quarry and miner upgrades and power storage itself)
-Refined Storage (the AE1 of 1.10.2 is the easiest way to put it, so no channel system, if you like the channel system/meteorites for difficulty go for AE2 instead).
Environmental Tech (great for multi-block structures to make generators or machines, you use stones, cores and other bits and pieces to make generators and a quarry, so if you like the immersive engineering use of multi-blocks but not to the same level then give it a go).
Actually Additions (adds utilities, power gen, machines, tools, armour, food and lots of things for automation).
I know quite a few mods that I think not many people know that are updated on curse fairly often but no one looks for obviously due to what there used to like there comfort zones or just don't want to branch out. Its up to them though so I understand but had no ideas or got bored with the same mods or common mods or I branched out and am out of my comfort zone all the time but I am learning mods for fun and new possibities. Its just recently/last updated option instead of popular and theres so many mods every day on minecraft.curseforge.com/projects.
Its up to you but hopefully this helped if not good luck finding what works for you.
