I have a challenge for those with the strongest wills.
I've created a modpack that is sure to completely destroy you, skill and intelligence is necessary, but the most important thing is persistence.
The aim of this modpack, apart from being extremely difficult, is also to provide a more realistic approach to Minecraft, or at least the most realistic I could get it. That being said, there's a hint of magic in here too.
If you can survive, it doesn't get easier. The longer you live, the more the game wants you dead
For those interested, you can find the mod list on the technic page.
The modpack is called "Absolute Displeasure" and can be found on technic. Server files are available too.
If anyone tests it out, good luck. And of course, tell me any suggestions and improvements you think would be fitting, especially if they improve realism.
There's a server download on the main page to the right side, there's a chance you'll have to play around with the server files when you download them though, they've only been lightly tested.
Have fun suffering with your friends!

I made a modpack made for the sole purpose of realism and extreme difficulty. If you're interested, click here.
I think it's just bad luck with the food, I've never had any problem with finding food myself, but I'll give it another look.
I'll look into why you have donator perks, hopefully I don't have to remove aether.
And as for not seeing any mobs... That's very unusual, I didn't have that problem myself, but I might have done something by accident in config, and I'll try to fix that too.
I completely removed every file I had and completely reinstalled the modpack to be exactly what you have, I found food pretty quickly, passive, neutral, and hostile mobs from both vanilla and modded, and I tested it on a whole other computer too and it had the same results.
As for the food, you're being sure to check the vegetation on the ground because of Pam's harvestcraft, right?
You may have just had the worst luck out of anyone. You made sure to put it on Biomes O Plenty, right? I don't think that'd affect too much, but it might.
As for the Aether II donor perks being available, I think that's a server side thing they have. And they appear to be purely cosmetic, which is harmless enough.
I've massively reduced to spawnrate for the botania flowers to the point they should be almost rare to find, and I really enjoyed the look of the plant mega pack mod, so I added that too, a patch should roll around in 30-60 minutes and I'm going to be gone for a few hours.
Enjoy!

Have you had a chance to see if the problem was fixed?
I also need the server files tested too, my computer isn't good enough to run a server for this modpack.

Awesome, hope it works out better for you this time. And no rush of course, I was just curious about the silence.
