Look for my 1.8.9 Mega Pack on my website, chime in now to help shape its future.
Get a full VPS (virtual private server) for no more than $5/month average at (Link Removed). Why pay someone that or more, when for $60/year you get 4 virtual cores, 4GB ram, 50gb hdd and 5TB/mo transfer and your own full ssh access. You can run anything on it from website hosting services to game servers on it. We typically run at least two MC servers on ours, and a website.

this is much better imo and im sure most of the older players are more familiar with this type of setting for a discussion.
ill add things as i think of them
off the very top of my head, add a custom options.txt that has most/all the conflicts resolved, when i first loaded in i thought a mod was bugging out because i couldn't move as "WASD" movement had a conflict with "Zero Quest"
I was initially doing that, then realized I didn't need to keep copying over your own options files with my own mappings. It was an oversight on my part, as I should've fixed that when I discovered it myself.
The problem was Flora & Soma, updating the pack to the latest version will solve that issue for you as Flora & Soma have been updated to resolve that problem.

i have updated my design for a auto rf generator and added a download for it (at bottom of my post)
Screenshots:
both will never get blocked up by apples and such they are carried away and both will produce extra fuel (forge coal in this case)
there's now 2 versions, both can be expanded as far as you want them to be, in my examples i use 5 generators and storage, but you can use just 1 or 100 it's up to you
NOTE:
you still need to add sticks to the 1st crafter
sometimes trees will destroy hoppers, to avoid this remove all dirt in a 1 block area around the chopper/duct's
sometimes trees will grow past the ground and destroy blocks close to ground level
version 1, single furnace (use if you have inversed furnace or low on supply's)
materials
furnace 1
hopper duct 29
hopper 13
grated hopper 2, 1st needs 1 (log of choice), 2nd needs 1 (sapling of choice)
dirt block as many as you want
rf storage 4, can be expanded
rf cable 14
generator 4, can be expanded
crafter 2, needs rf engine , 1st needs 9 charcoal in a square(forge charcoal), 2nd needs 2 stick's in middle 3 cobblestone in the top right corner (stone axe)
chopper 1, needs rf engine
chest 1
adjustable chest 1, upgrade to cobblestone gen and place 1 lava bucket and 1 water bucket in the bottom right corner
version 2, dual furnace (use if you DON'T have inversed furnace)
NOTE:this system takes a long time to fully start up, the chest at the bottom needs to fill completely before the 2nd furnace will kick in (you can speed this along by adding fuel to the chest)
materials
furnace 2
hopper duct 39
hopper 18
grated hopper 2, 1st needs 1 (log of choice), 2nd needs 1 (sapling of choice)
dirt block as many as you want
rf storage 4, can be expanded
rf cable 14
generator 4, can be expanded
crafter 2, 1st needs 9 charcoal in a square(forge charcoal), 2nd needs 2 stick's in middle 3 cobblestone in the top right corner (stone axe)
chopper 1, needs rf engine
chest 5
adjustable chest 1, needs rf engine, upgrade to cobblestone gen and place 1 lava bucket and 1 water bucket in the bottom right corner
to start both systems just add fuel to the generator (or power the chopper) and add some fuel to the furnace
both system can run with out the crafters, you will just needs to add axes and move the furnace output straight to the generator input (making them run on charcoal, this is not good for large scale systems)
ill make another lite version of this is someone want's
Would Minestrappolation 4 be too big of a mod to add into your pack? It seems like a cool mod to be in there but it might be too much of an overhaul to be among 170 or so mods, especially in 1.8.
Stupid user question here: I cannot for the life of me find the download URL on KreezCraft.com or here for the "270 Extreme Mega Pack 1.8 Mod". Can someone help this URL challenged MC miner please?

Now I have you to keep me on my toes.

Yes, you can play SSP all you want. You can get the pack from Technic Launcher now too! Just goto http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/extreme-18.665868
Install the pack in the Launcher and start the game, when the main menu comes up choose "single player". That's all there is to it!
I keep crashing whenever I try to create a world. Any solutions? I'm using the default world generation.
The problem was Flora & Soma, updating the pack to the latest version will solve that issue for you as Flora & Soma have been updated to resolve that problem.
so has anyone made any worthwhile creations with the mods yet?

fully auto rf/fuel pellet generator, well over 20000rf/min
if anyone want's the designs i can post a link to a schematic(the mod save file) for it
just download and drop into your folder then load in game with the "/" key by default

Did you have a specific question in mind?
Also goto http://www.kreezcraft.com for the latest and most up to date information on both of my Mod Packs.
Would Minestrappolation 4 be too big of a mod to add into your pack? It seems like a cool mod to be in there but it might be too much of an overhaul to be among 170 or so mods, especially in 1.8.
Also, Food Comfort is a quaint little mod that adds over 60 items, most of which are food except for a nice tile block for your kitchen.

Whenever I try to load this pack I just get black minecraft screen
Adding to the call for more MC 1.8 modpacks and servers....
I've started a pack and public server based exclusively on v1.8.9 and the latest Forge.
I've only got 46 mods in it that are stable enough for play, but always looking for more.
If folks are aware of additional mods that are up to 1.8.9, please let me know.
Here is the pack if you want to check it out: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/pughland-v189.786839
