Just started playing this via Curse. Ran into a problem. There are quests that are not being detected. For me it's the 120 seared brick and the basic ore mining quests. I have the seared brick in my inventory but the quest book doesn't detect it. If I click on "manual detect" nothing happens. Bug? Or user error?

I just recently completed both the quests without issue, it just required all 120 bricks in my inventory at once. On that note - it is strange/annoying to have to wait for all 120 to cook. Grout only becomes seared brick so once you have made 120 grout there isn't a need to make the player wait for all 120, especially for something like the smeltery which can be made piece by piece. It punishes players who don't wait for the all of the bricks to cook and build a small smeltery quickly.
On a similar note - I recommend allowing any tool forge for the quest. If not, you should clearly indicate in the book that only the iron one counts. Since they are all the same, I made a copper one because the book didn't say it had to be iron. Not only did I have more copper, but I think the other ones look much better than the iron one.
Last, I recommend JABBA as a mod. Not because of the barrels (I think the caches are better). The dollys are amazing. I understand disabling the diamond dolly if that is desired. The normal one is soooooo fantastic though and I'm not aware of something else equivalent.
Am after some help. Ive just put this pack on my server but when I try and join it fails and I get a huge mod rejection list. What do I do to fix this?
Which version of the mod pack are you running on the server and what version are you running on the client side
Adds some really cool stuff, including sliding laboratory doors which look perfect on a space station or high-tech base. The force field doors look cool too.

out something to the surrounding players, instead of gesturing vaguely
in its direction."

Hi, I just downloaded this modpack and am excited to try it out but I'm bugged by the screen being crowded. On the right hand side there's a bunch of information I don't know how to turn off: day/time, biome, light level, xp, fps, entities. What mod is doing this? How do I turn it off?

the mod is called InGameInfoXML but to be honest the screen shouldnt be that crowded.
I've been playing the modpack and it's definitely my personal favorite right now. I just ran into a bug with the Questing for the mission going to The End where it doesn't count that I have End Stone in my inventory despite having several stacks, thus forcing me to not complete the mission. Help.
After some research I saw that the issue was addressed before and closed on the bug thread. In this case, when is the next update scheduled to release?

So I downloaded this pack about a month ago, and it's the best pack I've played in a long time.
But I am getting serious framerate issues. After around 10 mins of playing at 60-70 fps, it'll freeze for a few seconds, then the framerate halves to around 30-35. This continues until I am literally playing at 1 frame. This only happens on this pack; I have never experienced anything like this with other packs.
Restarting the pack seems to alleviate it, but this gets extremely tedious after while.
I would like to point out that I have a pretty decent computer, and hardware-wise, I should be able to handle this pack fine (I can run other large packs such as SkyFactory and Resonant Rise at 80+ fps).
I believe EzTerry touched on this matter on page 1 of this thread; it only seems to happen on Linux.
I am using Sphax x64 with this pack (the Resonant Rise patch, as it covers most of the mods in Space Astronomy).
System Specs:
OS: Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit
Java version: 8
CPU: AMD A10-7700K Radeon R7
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 970, with latest nVidia driver
RAM: 16GB (with 5GB allocated to the FTB launcher)
I have tried installing OptiFine, which improves framerate but doesn't stop deterioration. I have also tried multiple GC optimisation commands in the launcher, but none seem to have much effect.
If anyone has an idea what's causing this I would love to know because this is pretty much unplayable.
Hey awesome modpack, really enjoying it, however there seems to be a few things I'm not used to. My main issue is that usually in railcraft, or any mod that uses a blast furnace to make steel, coal coke is enough for a 1:1 trade between iron and steel. In this modpack, that isn't the case, it's 2-3 coal coke per piece of steel, requiring a lot more coal coke. I was wondering if this was tweaked by you, or if it became the default for making steel in blast furnaces.
The other thing I wasn't sure about, was why did you add a bunch of Reika's mods, Rotarycraft, Electricraft, and Chromaticraft specifically. I guess I can see why you would Rotary, it provides a few generators, but with how many different ways to generate power in the pack, it doesn't really make sense to add more in does it?
Also as a suggestion, when you do decide to update the modpack, can you please make sure that it shows the changelog, had to dig around to actually find it.
What you mean by "train mod" ?

Can you send me the log via pastebin on skype
Server List added!
Have you ever considered adding these mods?:
1. Matter Overdrive
This mod adds a ton of sci-fi themed stuff that imo would be a perfect fit for your pack.
2. NuclearCraft
This mod is like a more in-depth version of BigReactors with some really cool planned stuff.
3. MalisisDoors
Adds some really cool stuff, including sliding laboratory doors which look perfect on a space station or high-tech base. The force field doors look cool too.
4. Warp Drive
Lets you build a space ship and travel with it, mine, and shoot lasers at other ships. Compatible with GalactiCraft too.
5. Ping
"Anyone who's played Portal 2 with others has encountered the Ping tool
at least once. For those who haven't, it provides a simple way to point
out something to the surrounding players, instead of gesturing vaguely
in its direction."
6. Super Massive Tech
Mod that centers around ",helvetica,sans-serif">stars, black holes, and all the powers and disasters that accompany them.
