So... I've been working on a mod pack for a bit here. Taking inspiration from here and there. The biggest being the Crash Landing style Mod packs. I wanted to get that feel of Survival still being hard, still being difficult, that your base wasn't safe once you set it up, that you needed to really make a hardened bunker that you need to think about. It won't be easy, and your first nights will be filled with terror at every turn.
Originally I was going to include Enviromine, BUT in testing i found that not only did it invalidate SO much of the other armors because of heat concerns, but I spent so much time drinking water in the early game that it really just detracted from the overall fun of the experience. It made things interesting, but it didn't do so in a fun way.
Keep in mind that I want to either find a way to cut out everything but Build Craft's pipes, or ultimately replace it when the CoFH internal piping mechanism comes around. It's nothing against buildcraft, in fact I think it's a wonderful mod, just for what I'm trying to do it's a little big and complex, and somewhat redundant to other tech mods. There will be an active server hopefully up 24 / 7 to test the multiplayer aspect of things. The server will probably go through more then a few map resets so you might want to expect that, as I tweak the configs / etc.
Also on my mind is perhaps making an HQM style book. I don't know if I want to make a questing book, because again this is aimed at being a mod just as much for servers and I don't know how HQM works for servers. But I would love to get a book that at the very least starts to introduce the mods. I think right now things are /way/ to overwhelming, and things like Iguana tweaks aren't great about explaining changes to the player.
But I'm looking for folks who are interested in testing out the balance. I want the experience to be difficult / trying, but at the same time fun and enjoyable. So if you're interested in a copy of the mod pack with the config tweaks, let me know here, or via PM, and I'll shoot you a download link, and the public server information. Keep in mind of course, the server will probably get reset a lot as we tweak things.
I tried to get in contact with all the Mod Authors who noted that they didn't want their mods in a mod pack without shooting them a message. If I have missed you, please, please, please let me know so I can correct that.

Started working on adding HQM / Minetweaker / Custom Mob Properties, and a few others to help better balance and tie the mod together. Trying to narrow down the list of mods now.
