Simply placing shelter will never be enough, to survive, you will constantly need sources of light at all times, at night, mining, in caves, there is no natural light where there is darkness, thankfully the Vashta Nerada arent around or this could make things even more dire.
To install: Either just look it up on the new Alpha Curse Voice Client (http://beta.cursevoice.com/games/minecraft), To upgrade your curse voice client to the latest alpha, click the "Upgrade" button in the upper right hand corner of the launcher.
Needed Extra Java Arguments: With the addition of Chromaticraft into our mods list an added java option is needed for those running Java8, to add this in, on the left hand side of your curse client, click on the Cog/Gear icon which is settings, then on the left goto Minecraft then on your right hand side scroll to the bottom where you will see an option called Advanced in the spot just under add in this java argument: -XX:+UseG1GC

Ok, having looked around ive noticed a lot of stuff isnt fully completed for the latest version of Thaumcraft which im using, so below is some helpful places that should get you at least 90% of the way and a list of things to get the other 10%.
1st thing you need to do is to Get Victus by Combining Aqua & Terra otherwise you wont be able to scan Grass Block an a lot of other things.
Once you've Completed Above, the below maybe some of the missing Aspects, items that give the below i dont know of as yet, but as more info comes to light, i shall update this.

Config Change: Added a new config option to disable the crafting recipes for all weapons (Scepters, Swords, etc).
Bug Fix: Large mobs with a height greater than 3.9 were unable to target anything which is why mobs such as the Trent didn't attack unless hit first most of the time.
Bug Fix: Fixed a crash caused by activating a disabled event (either by command or by loading a game with the event already active).
Bug Fix: Fixed a rare crash caused by the land spawn type asking modded blocks if they had a solid top or bottom surface, instead the crash is prevented and mobs are simply prevented from spawning on the block.

Added the Lost Map. It is now the starting point for Factorization. You will find it after getting the Diamonds achievement. Using the map will point you towards... the new source for the LMP, and a nice bit of Dark Iron and Logic Matrices. It can break, so don't use it too much! And you'll only get one, so don't drop it in lava!
Added the /deglitch command. Useful for escaping glitchy situations!
Added Gargantuan Bricks. I assure you that automatically crafting them is pretty easy.
Rewrote dark iron ore spawning. They miiight have been causing worldgen crashes, especially with flat bedrock; hopefully they'll stop doing that, and they'll also be easier to find with flat bedrock as well.
Changed the bedrock texture and (less noticably) the Birch log texture.
Added the Twisting Dark Iron Block. It has the potential to mess up your world, so be careful with what you put on it. If things go really south with those features, as a last resort you can try deleting its dimension (see the config file). But first see if you can use the /fzds command to fix it.

You've become stranded on a deserted planet, unbeknownst to you how or why you got here, the only message left behind for you is to "run, run while you can... set up shelter before nightfall". Nightfall on this planet is pitch black, and the mobs are very, very aggressive. When not even the moon provides any light... can you survive the night?
Simply placing shelter will never be enough, to survive, you will constantly need sources of light at all times, at night, mining, in caves, there is no natural light where there is darkness, thankfully the Vashta Nerada arent around or this could make things even more dire.

Ok, having looked around ive noticed a lot of stuff isnt fully completed for the latest version of Thaumcraft which im using, so below is some helpful places that should get you at least 90% of the way and a list of things to get the other 10%.
1st thing you need to do is to Get Victus by Combining Aqua & Terra otherwise you wont be able to scan Grass Block an a lot of other things.

Major changes to the license.
Added the Lost Map. It is now the starting point for Factorization. You will find it after getting the Diamonds achievement. Using the map will point you towards... the new source for the LMP, and a nice bit of Dark Iron and Logic Matrices. It can break, so don't use it too much! And you'll only get one, so don't drop it in lava!
Added the /deglitch command. Useful for escaping glitchy situations!
Added Gargantuan Bricks. I assure you that automatically crafting them is pretty easy.
Rewrote dark iron ore spawning. They miiight have been causing worldgen crashes, especially with flat bedrock; hopefully they'll stop doing that, and they'll also be easier to find with flat bedrock as well.
Changed the bedrock texture and (less noticably) the Birch log texture.
Added the Twisting Dark Iron Block. It has the potential to mess up your world, so be careful with what you put on it. If things go really south with those features, as a last resort you can try deleting its dimension (see the config file). But first see if you can use the /fzds command to fix it.
