Seriously though, why?
I see no problem with the idea, if you like the pack, why install 15 mods one at a time when you can install them all at once? Plus you know they all work together. The only problem is that he's actually distributing minecraft.

I removed the program and included the modded minecraft.jar and the mods and resources folders.

No, the jar is the program. The exe anybody can download for free, it just downloads the jar if you have an account. The jar is where all the code is, that's what you can't give out.

One cannot run the program alone on the minecraft.jar file alone. There are several other program files in the .minecraft folder that contribute to the program's functionality (and probably licensing information as well), so if one were to obtain a minecraft.jar file while not having purchased the program, one cannot utilize/manipulate it in such a manner to successfully run Minecraft without the remaining program files, which include:
Minecraft.jar (uppercased, located in .minecraft)
minecraft_name_alt.jar
The entire resources folder (I'll modify the download so that only the mod folder is there.)
The entire bin folder (including the natives folder, which contains essential libraries)
By providing the download link, I am in no way allowing one to unlock minecraft as a fully licensed version.
I don't know who's right in this situation, though I tend to lean towards not distributing the jar file. As a solution, why don't you pack all the mods into a zip file? From there, it's easy enough to pop them into the program.

The only thing worse than Creepers? Zombie Creepers. After exploding, they come back from the dead to explode again. And again. And again.

Whatever you say man, I'm just warning you that there's a rule on the forums that posting a link to minecraft.jar results in a perma-ban. Good luck though.

Thank you ScottyDoesKnow. I thoroughly appreciate your input, and I have looked up the rules in accordance with your claim, and by definition, I am in no way pirating any part of the program, because it is a modified program file. If I were to be banned for copying a modified program file, then all users who have posted links to modified .class files on minecraftforum should be banned as well, since they have copied and modified the program file.
Quick question: I'm copying the "Mod" folder to resources, but windows is asking if I want to merge it with the existing Mod folder. Should I say "Yes" or should I delete the old folder and paste in the new one?
If this is indeed the case, I know how to fix this while still making this mod pack quick and easy.
There should be a special section of the forum that only owners of Minecraft can log into by using their game details.
For the time being, though, I think it would be best if you left it out. :sad.gif:
You're going to have to do your mod in such a way so that it doesn't include minecraft.jar. As said, that's the principal file of the game and can be run alone on the JRE. Posting links to it usually results to a permaban, but as this seems to have been done without knowledge of what it was, I'm giving you amnesty this time.
I've removed the link in the OP. Don't repost it until you've removed the minecraft.jar file from it.
