In a realm beyond the one that we inhabit, magic and technology coexist, working together, and to be harnessed by the wandering adventurer. Whether you fancy yourself a Scientist or a Mage matters not within this strange, fantastical world. Peculiar, interesting, and potentially dangerous creatures that normally only exist within mythology, roam the Earth. Living through large and beautiful forests that are just as fantastic as the world in which they reside. New ores wait to be discovered and utilize to create whatever you can think of. Discover ancient secrets as old as time one day, and invent new ones the next. Combine the forces of Arcane and Science to make many powerful contraptions, for whatever purpose you see fit. Many new adventures wait for you in the world of Gears of the Arcane.

Permissions and Mod List? (Important)
After a bit over a year, good news came to our virtual mailbox. All mods are for public distrubation. No more manual downloads and installations! We did have to cut out two mods due to unavoidable issues, but the pack is barely changed without them.
Actual Permissions?
Click on the mod to be brought to it's page. Click on the Author to be brought to proof, some do not have links, but rather where to find it.
Do not use the MultiMC 5 launcher if you don't know what you're doing. This is complex. If you do not like using the FTB launcher, I recommend googling the MultiMC 5 on youtube for better instructions.

Sounds neat and all, but I have no idea what mods are in the pack because it doesn't say in the post. And as for the first FAQ, you should try a mod called WikiLink.

Hello, This looks like a cool modpack, and I'll definitely use it, but i have one suggestion, i don't know if you have tried it before, but i suggest adding project red... its a continuation of red power, i use it with buildcraft, industrial craft, ee, and thaumcraft, and it is a really nice mod... also there are four parts, i recommended getting all four but if you can only get some in and others cause bugs i understand...
and i noticed in the FAQ you have a server for this, would you at any time release the server files for the mods you have permission to?
also, the installation is a bit complicated, i'm not very experienced with multimc or things like magic launcher, and i usually do manual installations unless its a mod pack, I think you should upload this to the technic launcher, if you need help then pm me, i have uploaded a modpack there before...
EDIT: lol, after messing up with multimc like 5 times i finally got some other mods to work with the mod pack... i will probably add more... i love adding mods to modpacks and customizing them : P... i added project red so they all should would but you have to delete the forge multipart that is in the 1.6 folder because project red installs it for you but then it conflicts with the other version... i'm also happy because all of the mods that project red is designed to work with are in there, it has special compatibility for NEI, wireless redstone, and tinkers construct...
EDIT AGAIN: also, one more thing, whats the server IP, the FAQ says your maintaining one, but at the same time it does not say the IP...
I actually have looked at PR before, it was neat but at the time had a few issues I disagreed with. That being said we do have "Red Logic" which introduces the red wiring system that Red Power 2 had. And really, everything else is already - by some form - in the pack. But if enough people ask: I'll think about it. That being said, please refer ALL mod requests to the proper email provided under contacts.
As for the complexity of MC5, I plan to produce a video which will hopefully clarify all steps. - Not a fan of the Technic Launcher. However, I have met the requirements for the FTB Launcher. I'll have to look into using that.
The server is being a little stubborn right now, I actually plan on working on it for today - we're using MCPC for a bukkit and forge environment.

I see, what exactly was the problem? features? bugs? I guess it really does not matter because i have installed it myself so that i can use it... I'll use the e-mail next time.
Ok, im sure that will help future installers of the modpack.
I see, i run my own servers so when it gets ready i may run one! I used MCPC for a custom Tekkit server with smart moments and more dungeons and what nots, i like it because it has Bukkit support, in witch i can use plugins... i hate how things like Hexxit don't have Bukkit support because that means i can only run private servers, i mean its fine and all, but i feel its always nice having someone you don't know there, i guess it just spices things up or something...
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I could put something clever here... but i decided not to...
It boiled down to instability issues, quite honestly. And there was some other odd bug at the time of installation that I don't quite remember.
I actually plan on making a few videos over a period of time that cover the majority of features in MC5, and hopefully I'll have some free time to make an actual series.
Out of pure curiosity why don't you make the server public? The client doesn't need to install anything, and MCPC Plus Legacy can handle running forge and bukkit, without needing "forge/bukkit" plugins. And you're doing no harm by starting a server. Speaking of MCPC+L, I'm actually using that to run the server. But, I haven't got to finish updating it yet thanks to being busy with this last update. I plan on getting that done today.
@The Topic: A big update was released fixing a few terrible bugs. Hopefully this update will be useful.

Another update was released, I apologize for any issues caused in the last two updates. This one appears to be stable, as well has an additional mod added, Thermal Expansion.
EDIT: Whooooooppppsss I uploaded the wrong file. Corrected, and here's to a much smoother update!
I see, that sucks, I really like the mods, but i can add them myself if i'm willing to deal with the bugs i guess : P
mmm k
I don't really like to run servers without plugins because there would be allot of instability, people could grief and i couldn't know who did it, other staff could shut down the server with one command, people could just spawn camp the spawn... it would cause allot of kayos, Honestly i might just be lazy and don't want to manage a ton of people and the staff at once...

Yea, I know watcha mean. I mean its perfectly fine - to me - if its a private server, but whenever I go to public servers, I defiantly like to see serious moderation mods. Makes the flow of things much smoother.

Another release up today fixing a few pesky bugs and introducing some more mods. The server is coming along smoothly - will release to public as soon as GotA settles down. Which hopefully is this update - all major bugs seem to have been found and squished.
